Description Previous:     Next:    First:

Yes, Ian actually sacrificed his video game money.  That was kind of a bummer at first, but he'd have felt like a creep if he hadn't.  He's such a cinnamon roll, isn't he?

You just can't predict what will set Springtrap off any more.  I think he needs to switch to decaf.

Springaling 243: Lunch Money

Panel 1:
Springtrap: C'mon, I want to hear about your worst screw-up. For real this time.
Puppet: Well...okay.  This is one I still think about sometimes. I wonder what went wrong.

Panel 2:
Puppet: There was this girl.  I bought her lunch a few times-
Springtrap: A bad date? Fine.  Whatever.  Let's hear it.

Panel 3:
Puppet: No!  Nothing like that!  I was thirteen and she was, I don't know, eighteen or so!
Springtrap: Whoa. This got strange quick.

Panel 4:
Puppet: I met her when I cut through a Wendy's parking lot on the way to an arcade.
She was, um, at the dumpster.  She was really embarrassed when she saw me.

Panel 5:
Puppet: Nobody ought to have to go through garbage for food!  I asked her if she'd have lunch with me. She was real iffy at first, but she agreed.

Panel 6:
Puppet: We had lunch a few times, and we got to be friends.  I didn't get to the arcade, but I couldn't spend money on games when she was hungry.  She told me she and her little sister were living out of an old car.

Panel 7:
Puppet: I told her my church would help her, no questions asked.  They'd give her food and a place to stay, and help her get back home again.  She looked like she'd seen a ghost when I said that!
I never saw her again. I wonder what happened to her. I hope she got home safely.
Springtrap: You naive little IDIOT!

Panel 8:
Puppet: What?
Springtrap: Did it ever occur to you that when a kid runs away from home, leaving behind food and bed and bathroom and clean water, they just might have a DAMNED GOOD REASON?!

Springaling 243: 餐費

Panel 1:

Panel 2:
Puppet:

Panel 3:
Springtrap:

Panel 4:

Panel 5:

Panel 6:

Panel 7:
Springtrap:

Panel 8:
Puppet:

Springaling 243: Peníze na oběd

Panel 1:
Springtrap: No ták, chci slyšet o tom, co si nejvíce zkazil. Ale tentokrát opravdový.
Puppet: No….dobře. O tomhle občas přemýšlím. Zajímalo by mě, co jsem udělal špatně.

Panel 2:
Puppet: Holčička, které jsem občas koupil oběd-
Springtrap: Špatný rande? Fajn. No a co. Poslechněme si to.

Panel 3:
Puppet: Ne!

Panel 5:
Puppet: Nikdo by neměl procházet odpadky pro jídlo!

Panel 8:
Puppet: Co?
Springtrap: Nenapadlo tě, že když dítě uteče z domova, opustí jídlo, postel a koupelnu s čistou vodou, možná má ZATRACENĚ DOBREJ DŮVOD?!

Springaling 243: Lunchgeld

Panel 1:

Elle était très embarrasée quand elle m'a vu when she saw me.

Case 5:

Panel 1
Springtrap: No weź, chcę dowiedzieć się o twoim najgorszym schrzanieniu. Tym razem na serio.
Puppet: No... okej. O tym dotąd czasami myślę. Zastanawiam się, co zrobiłem nie tak.

Panel 2
Puppet: Była dziewczyna... Kilka razy przyniosłem jej lunch.
Springtrap: Nieudana randka? Dobra. Wszystko jedno. Słucham.

Panel 3
Puppet: Nie, nic takiego! Miałem trzynaście lat, a ona, nie wiem, z osiemnaście!
Springtrap: Whoa. Nagle zrobiło się dziwnie.

Panel 4
Puppet: Spotkałem ją przechodząc przez parking Wendy's, idąc do strefy gier.
Była, uh, przy śmietniku. Naprawdę się zawstydziła, gdy mnie zobaczyła.

Panel 5
Puppet: Nikt nie powinien musieć grzebać w śmieciach szukając jedzenia! Zaproponowałem jej, aby zjadła ze mną lunch. Na początku była podejrzliwa, ale się zgodziła.

Panel 6

Daliby jej jedzenie i miejsce do spania, i pomogli wrócić do domu. Gdy to usłyszała, wyglądała jakby zobaczyła ducha! Nigdy więcej jej nie zobaczyłem. Zastanawiam się co się z nią stało. Mam nadzieję, że bezpiecznie wróciła do domu.
Springtrap: Ty naiwny, mały IDIOTO!

Panel 8

Panel 1:
Springtrap: Vai, eu quero escutar a maior idiotice que fez. De verdade dessa vez.
Puppet: Bem...ok. Essa eu ainda penso sobre as vezes. Eu me pergunto o que deu errado.

Panel 2:
Puppet: Tinha essa menina. Eu a comprei comida algumas vezes-
Springtrap: Mau encontro? Está bem. Tanto faz. Vamos escutá-la.

Panel 3:
Springtrap: Nossa. Isso ficou estranho rápido.

Panel 4:
Puppet: Eu a conheci quando eu peguei atalho num estacionamento a caminho do arcade.
Ela estava, eh, num lixão. Ela estava bem envergonhada quando me viu.

Panel 5:

Panel 6:
Puppet: Lanchamos algumas vezes, e viramos amigos.

Springaling 243: Dinero del almuerzo

Panel 1:
Springtrap: Vamos, quiero oír de tu peor metida de pata. De verdad esta vez.
Puppet: Bueno...bien. Me pregunto qué salió mal.

Panel 2:
Puppet: Estaba esta chica.  Le compre el almuerzo algunas veces-
Springtrap: ¿Una mala cita? Bien.  Lo que sea. Vamos a oírlo.

Panel 3:
Puppet: ¡No!  ¡No era nada como eso! ¡Yo tenía trece años y ella, no sé, dieciocho o por ahí!
Springtrap: Wow. Esto se puso extraño rápido.

Panel 4:

Springaling 243: Lunchpengar

Panel 1:
Springtrap: Kom igen, jag vill veta ditt värsta misstag. På riktigt den här gången.
Puppet: Tja... okej.

I know I'm a little late commenting on this but I must say you're an amazing storyteller.   I absolutely love the characterization of both Ian and Springtrap and how they play off each other, Ian's naivety on the situation versus Spingtrap's cynicism on the reality. In addition the time and effort you planned for this storyline, a year if I remember correctly from the description, is very aspiring because it shows just how much you planned in advance for a compelling and thought-provoking storyline, something unusually expected of a gag comic series of FNaF. In short I hope that are more serious storylines in the future as well as the funny ones.

Though then again perhaps I'm just another preacher in the choir.

Thank you!  I consider myself a storyteller above all--well, certainly more than an artist!--so I really appreciate hearing that my story is coming across well.  I have more comedy and drama planned, and I hope you enjoy what's coming up!

Well I've never been in her situation, but if she was 18, she must've known all she had to do was tell the priests she'd been abused at home... right?
Unless the mere thought of it, even the slightest hint of a possibility, scared the bejeezus out of her.

Negaduck9 In reply to FeatherSpiral [2017-03-09 14:02:18 +0000 UTC]

Eighteen is just the Puppet's estimate.  He didn't know her exact age.

Abused kids are often convinced that they deserve the treatment they've gotten, that nobody will help them, that it's normal, et cetera.  That's how they were raised, after all.  And, yeah, just the thought of being made to go back caused her to break contact with Ian.

👍: 0 ⏩: 0

neonpinkfeline In reply to FeatherSpiral [2017-03-08 20:56:02 +0000 UTC]

The thing is that she would have been charged with kidnapping. She would have been taken to prison while her younger sibling would have been returned home. That's the best case scenario.

Now being 18, even if the police knew they were run aways, they could not have made her go back, but they legally have to take her sister back.

All this said, yes, the very hint that she might have to go back, or that her little sister had to go back without her, was utterly terrifying.

Poor Ian... Springtraps right, he really can be quite naive but then he was only 14 when he died so no surprise there really.
Just had a peak at the chat, and i noticed a few people commenting on how "gentle" Springtrap seems to be in that last panel...

But... I honestly don't think he's trying to be gentle or parental here at all. I mean.. its Springtrap... I think he's doing it to make sure he has Ian's full attention while he talks to him and to have him understand that he is being genuinely serious with what he's saying, very much like he was with little Plushtrap earlier in the comic.

I could be wrong, but that's just my take on the situation.

Ok, this is what I felt to be told eventually by Springtrap. Ian is indeed open minded, and can observe things from different points of view but it doesn't mean he can understand everything he is seeing. He just senses what is there, despite not getting what it is, because he never experienced such a harsh life, on its own, until at least he got murdered. Smelling smoke, but failing to tell what is burning is unfortunately his position at the moment, and this is exactly what pissed Springtrap the most.

And I can't help but relate to Springtrap frustration. There nothing more infuriating that watching someone able to follow the tracks and failing to see the elephabt in front of them. It make your skin really thin and decaf can't really help, at that point.

But I don't blame Ian either. It is normal for other to not be able to get always what you trying to tell without words. I have myself in a few occasions been in this same position, despite my best attempt to understand people. I missed a few time signals of distress from others, because at that time I was too young, or not informed enough yet. And those clues that was given to you, keep indeed on haunting you as you grow older and realize: Yes, I missed something massive here.

It is amazing how we are confined to keep everything for ourselves; to "protect" us from others while aching for people to cross the silent wall we're erecting, in fear of being exposed or vulnerable. People call that politeness sometimes, or discretion, or privacy, or proof of strength. Keeping our pain is often prized while opening or complaining is seen as rudeness or signs of weakness. But all it does it is making this pile of darkness rotting inside, and raise the hope that someone will set us free, but with the fear to leave the prison we have built around us. Except the one holding the hammer is us...

Ian is right: In the end, Springtrap is the only one that can free himself.

Now here is something I'm left asking myself after reading this; how much does Springtrap want the Puppet to find the clues to his past?

Seeing how much Springtrap keep on coming back to Puppet with his dare and provocations, a lot and in the same time none. But I think a lot of his wishes is either denied or unconscious. If really he didn't want Puppet to understand, he wouldn't make this deal with him, he would simply shut him up and leave the room. But he keeps on testing Ian.

It is a daring game: "I dare you to understand me since you are so curious, but I am pretty sure you won't. Yet I'll keep on coming back to you to see if you will be smart enough to read between the lines. Since you pretend you can. But I'll make sure you won't."

It is what we call a reverse psychology. Springtrap convinced himself that he doesn't want or can't be free. But Ian his challenging his definition of himself, that is pretty destabilizing. No matter what, Puppet already had shaken his world. And the tones of denial Springtrap dug himself under isn't enough to keep the pretentions up. It is annoying him a lot because he might feel extremely insecure. It is not that he "knows" he is in denial or twisted his mind to fit in his vision of the world (as a survival instinct), it is just he define himself this way. He knows isn't right, but claim that it can't any other way. And Ian is basically lighting up how much it isn't the case.

Well that is how I interpret his behavior. Mostly because I witness this behavior before.

I know it' been a while, but I wanted to let you know that I read your comments, and you make a whole lot of sense.  You've been doing some serious thinking about where Springtrap's mind is now, and you've got some things right.  If Springtrap really didn't want the Puppet to know about him, he'd just shut up.  Instead, he offers bits and pieces, and has even worked on the arcade machines despite having little interest in the games.

What does Springtrap expect out of this?  I doubt even he knows.

And what reason would that be, O Springtrap?

Abuse, forced sexual behaviors, drug use, alcoholism, possibly violent behavior between the parents that has not yet involved the kids. The list is pretty long but the two most common ones are Abuse and forced sex.

I thought Springtrap was trying to emphasize that he did the same thing. Luckily, I found out later in the comic.

Springtrap isn't being mean. By that story alone Springtrap knew that that kid was a runaway because home wasn't safe, Involving the younger sibling claimed both would have been in danger if they stayed. When the Puppet told them his church can help bring them home they disappeared because they were happier on the streets. If anything, Springtrap did the same until he got a job at Freddy's .

Like the old saying goes. 'It takes one to know one'. Springtrap knew pain for years from Dog Fighting to Abuse by his parent(s) only to let it out on kids whome took revenge and made him who he is today. Now stuck with his past mistakes, he hates himself even more and is just...lost. Springtrap is alone and scared and he feels no one understands him. That's why when he admitted to love being Fredbear that is because Fredbear was a persona to forget his sad life and be someone new, someone that was loved and admire by kids and adults alike.

DIDNT MEAN TO PREACH. SORRY.

Springtrap! Marionette just tried to help this girl. (even if it's a little stupid what he said in the last one) But stop talking with this tone. It's making you looks mean, I know you're trying to explain him, but not like that. Not like a brute. It's make me sad seing you guys, one sad and one mad. Hopefully, I'm sad not mad or I'll bite my hand again.
