In The Silence of the Lambs, the killer objectified his victims by refusing to speak directly to them, referring to them as "it" rather than fellow humans. It was easier for him to slaughter his victims if he didn't think of them as people. Senator Martin, in her televised appeal to the killer for the return of her daughter, repeated her daughter's name and gave details of her life to paint a picture of her as a human being, hopefully making it less likely that he would kill her too.
The Puppet has been trying to humanize the ghost children to Springtrap, to show him the people they were and still are. It's a little late to protect them--they are beyond any harm that Springtrap could do to them--but there may still be a reason for his making this point...

Springtrap: He told me. Just came up to me in the vent, told me about this dog, and said "You're a you." Damnedest thing.

Springtrap: You know, I never knew any of the ones I killed. I didn't exactly think of them as people. I don't THINK I did.
Panel 3:
Puppet: And now?
Springtrap: I don't know. I don't know what I think any more.

Bobtrap (I’ve seen people call him that XD.) is slowly, yet still, breaking down that facade of his and showing that he does have a soft side.
I must admit, you are very good at the development of your characters negaduck9. I applaud you. That is one of the many reasons I love this comic so much. You are an amazing artist and writer. Keep up the good work!

Dehumanising people is normally the way for a serial killer to go about their business with very little remorse unless you get the very horrifying kind of killer who acknowledges their victims are individual people and still doesn't hesitate to do the deed. I'm incredibly glad Bob isn't that kind of killer.

Nope, BOB is definitely no Hannibal Lecter. Somewhere in the back of his mind he sees himself as a predatory animal. Killing the children could be likened to a wolf taking sheep that had strayed from the herd.

Makes sense, Springtrap ironically acted like a wounded savage animal in FNAF 3 before regaining some of his sanity and ability to speak later on in the canon series so that idea gels quite nicely with canon.

There is so much to be said in those two simple phrases. That, the guilt, the lack of retort at finding out the suits were inhabited. Unreal. "At least you're thinking" is a pretty potent quote, too. The introspection has commenced. That's the most important thing, here; to me, at least.

Dehumanising people does make is easier to hurt them, it has happened throughout history with racism and over all horrid behaviour to a certain type of person, whether it was religion, heritage, or opinion. It wouldn't surprise me if Springtrap had completely blocked out the fact that his victims were human.
Ian may be trying to get Springtrap to relate to some of the children, or at least empathise with them. I can't remember if he's ever said it, and I doubt it, but possibly even an apology?
