In The Silence of the Lambs, the killer objectified his victims by refusing to speak directly to them, referring to them as "it" rather than fellow humans. It was easier for him to slaughter his victims if he didn't think of them as people. Senator Martin, in her televised appeal to the killer for the return of her daughter, repeated her daughter's name and gave details of her life to paint a picture of her as a human being, hopefully making it less likely that he would kill her too.
The Puppet has been trying to humanize the ghost children to Springtrap, to show him the people they were and still are. It's a little late to protect them--they are beyond any harm that Springtrap could do to them--but there may still be a reason for his making this point...

Puppet: How'd you know about Richie's dog?
Springtrap: He told me. Just came up to me in the vent, told me about this dog, and said "You're a you." Damnedest thing.
Panel 2:
Puppet: Well!
Springtrap: You know, I never knew any of the ones I killed. I didn't exactly think of them as people. I don't THINK I did.
Panel 3:
Puppet: And now?
Springtrap: I don't know. I don't know what I think any more.

Puppet: At least you're thinking.

Huh. You know in a lot of my comments on this comic as time as gone on I've given you a lot of praise over how you play your characters as having very realistic human emotion. And that's still true! But...it just occurred to me that, they're literally ghosts. Any punishment they would have received as people is beyond them. So...what is a person to do when they've been stripped of their flesh, their possessions, and all they're left with is their soul? When all you have left is your ideals, you tend to second guess them.
You sure are good at provoking some thought with this little comic.

Punishment is not only physical. They are still recovering from the things they suffered as humans.
As for what they do now, they don't really know. Ian has an idea that they are there to recover, so he's trying to "make it better" as best he can figure out how.

Springtrap seems to be coming around. I applaud Puppet! He and I would probably get along well since we both like to gently break the walls down around people. Not in a bad way, of course. It's a gentle, non-threatening way. And we keep secrets that we promise we'll keep, so that's another reason.
But I'm proud of Springtrap for opening up.
And I'm proud of the artist for how well they're developing the characters.

Thank you! I'm happy that my little story is coming across in this way. Yeah, the Puppet is patient. He doesn't love being stuck in Fazbear's Fright with Springtrap for who knows how long, and he really doesn't like that the children are in that position,but that's the way it is and he's goig to do whatever he can to try to make things better than they were.
