Description
The other page I never posted years ago for some reason. There were actually two other pages in this sample comic after this, but I never even finished inking them. They were very simple, so maybe one day when I'm not so busy I'll do them, just for some closure on this.
I redid this page like 3 times though because I wasn't happy with a lot of it. Now It's my favorite page in the sample.

If I may know, what software do you use? I love the subtle cross hatching you used for the shadows...

This was one of the last pieces I did on Photoshop. I had downloaded a ton of screen tones from a CD I found at Half Price Books. Clip has tones like this too built in but if you're still on PS, I know there's some groups here on DA where people have uploaded screen tones to use, since I've gotten a couple from here.

Ah. I personally use Gimp, but the textures pre-downloaded there leve something to be desired... I go for free software XD. Also, PS seems quite hard to use...

Photoshop is a hot mess, I would never ever suggest it for anyone unless they were going into graphic design/advertising. It's messy, glitchy, very distracting and very expensive. Unless you use multiple adobe programs, don't waste your money. Free programs are good, but when you get to a certain point they start to become lacking like with textures and assets as you pointed out. I like that nice middle ground of having paid for it and gotten perks, but not breaking the bank. SAI and Clip are both great about that since its not a subscription and they have sales. I'm not sure about SAI but Clip has an endless library of free and paid resources other artists have created that are effortless to install. I'm not great with computers or electronics so the easier these things are the better.

Srry for the late reply. I've seen stuff done by people on Sai, and it just doesn't seem as good as Clip, but maybe I've just been seeing the wrong artists XD
Maybe when I'll get a drawing tablet I'll take a better look at software. It just doesn't seem worth it now XD

I mean, I've seen some artists do jaw dropping stuff with just a mouse, but there are tools CLIP has that SAI doesn't that make it (imo) so much better. ANY artist can make a fantastic piece on any software if they put enough time and effort into it, but for those who make money off their art, the easier and quicker they can work the better for sure.
