Description Map of the Wild
a map of Hyrule in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

v2, based on maps created by GameXplain www.youtube.com/user/GameXplai… EngineeringHyrule plus.google.com/collection/Uz_…

I'm open for corrections and suggestions.

It's now interactive and zoom-able! Check it out here: hyrule.nelde.ch

Update: Now with more details and the region names from the collector's edition map. (Necluda and Altun might be something else, it's hard to read...)
Update: twice the size

I have a question, is this map accurate to the game.

They say that Zelda 1 on the NES actually takes place in Faron and Necluda. Just line up Lake Hylia here with itself on the Zelda 1 map and it somewhat reveals itself.

When will we get an update about New Paper Mario? (sorry if you don't want to answer this question)

Some additional map info, if you're still working on this and the interactive version:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=mGAMaK…

At 2:08, Kakariko Village is in West Necluda, around the stable directly to the northeast of the Twin Peaks, the Sheikah Tower is called the Dueling Peaks Tower and the shrine is called the Ree Dahee Shrine.

At 13:22, the Twin Peaks are officially named the Dueling Peaks, and nearby areas are Mable Ridge, Lake Siela, Kakariko Bridge, Ash Swamp, Blatchery Plain, Big Twin Bridge, Bubinga Forest, South Nabi Lake, Hills of Baumer, Proxim Bridge, and Scout's Hill.

Also, the Hylia River has been renamed as the River of the Dead.

Perhaps the timelines are starting to fuse...

Because there are places from different timelines?

Ya, it's the only way I can think of that these would be on the map.

What program did you use to make this?

Nelde In reply to William6208 [2017-01-25 13:59:37 +0000 UTC]

The images were created in Adobe Illustrator and I used the Google Maps API to create the interactive page.

Nerd
I knew it sounded familiar, but I had to check Zeldawiki first

You forgot the Sheikah Tower on the Great Plateau, by the way.

Ah, oops. I definitely had it once. Must've deleted it by accident. It's still on the interactive map, though

Awesome work mapping this!

But NOOOOOOO! Spectacle Rock continuity ruined! Lanayru's the name for a completely different region than usual! OCD...making...me...RAGE!!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Nelde In reply to Fyrisvellir [2017-01-16 13:35:35 +0000 UTC]

Well, Lanayru has been the name of two provinces so far, and they both were in a different spot and looked quite different...
And spectacle rock has also been all over the place

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Fyrisvellir In reply to Nelde [2017-01-16 19:56:30 +0000 UTC]

Spectacle Rock has always been in or around Death Mountain, though - not in the desert!

And those two Lanayrus were the same; the one in Skyward Sword simply extended from the Twilight Princess one to cover the desert, if you note where Lake Hylia was in Twilight Princess. The Lanayru change in Breath of the Wild makes sense to me now, though - Zora's Domain is in the new one at the river source.

Nice map : good job!

You could add a schrine West from the bridge near the Plateau (the small bridge, East_West oriented). We see it here, top left, at 23:48 :

You gonna add towns to the map once the game is out?

And are those Blue Icons for the trial shrines?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Nelde In reply to HYPERJOSEPH [2016-12-13 23:34:08 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I'm planning to update the map when new information is released.
And yes, the blue icons are the known shrines.

You could probably figure out how to code a map like that in flash with actionscript but unfortunately I wouldn't know how to go about doing that, only that it's theoretically possible?

Javascript and HTML5 are your best best, actually.

GrappleMace In reply to ChaosMiles07 [2016-12-13 02:28:16 +0000 UTC]

I only just recently learned how to do stuff in flash and was taught in actionscript 3.0, so that's the only reason why that was what I suggested. But there you have it! This guy knows more about what he's talking about than me~
