Description
Dedicated and in tribute to the original Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy.I'm just sick and tired of the goddamn angst shit with extreme guns and crap that video games have been taking and it seems unfortunate, but it seems Jak II is the possible one that started this whole trend. Frankly, I confess Jak II as my fave of the Jak series, but the original Jak and Daxter has more heart and charm then any of the other sequels. It's even ironic fans tend to skip out on the first one as well. After all, without the original Jak, there wouldn't even BE a Jak 2 and 3 and X, so you guys should be grateful for this underappreciated little gem. I love Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy.
I can point out the numerous mistakes and live with it, but I swear, if I missed out on any characters, I'm gonna scream.

That.
Is.
AWESOME!
The bold lines around the edges give off a certain light-hearted comic book style, not entirely dissimilar from what The Precursor Legacy had in-game. Different design for a similar effect.

Agreed. The first game is amazing. Sure, maybe the tone is completely different from the rest of the games, but I think that's what makes it stand out so much. It didn't have so much of a violent and dark beginning, and it's so different from the other games in the series while still tying into the ultimate story.
It looks like you have all the characters in there. I can't find a single one missing.

A wonderful job. Looks like the whole gang is there, and I love the giant group picture. And the second/third games wouldn't have been as amazing without the base they'd built off of. The innocent charm of the first game was what made the grit of the second game so interesting.
Thank you for this lovely work. You honor the game.

That really is the truth of the matter. I don't think JakII started the trend of guns and violence, but Agree that it's become an overused gaming staple.
The Precursor legacy really is unique. The world was imaginative and so well put together that I can enjoy spending hours just running around it visiting places time after time....
and then the fact that you could see the entire game world if you got high up enough (try revisiting the platform where the last boss was or the top of the snowy mountain if you hadn't noticed...)
It was the first game I ever had on PS2 as well (pretty much my first ever!) and I would easily say that is the best game on the PS2, and quite possibly the best game of all time. Anyone who plays games but hasn't played this has missed out more than they can imagine.....
The above text is the condensed form of my hour long rant about how amasing that game actually was (and still is!) It must be said that this picture perfectly captures the character and charm of the game, and makes me want to spend hours uppon hours playing it all over again....

Jak II didn't start it indeed, hell, Conker's Fur Day came before Jak II which was an incident of a once kiddie franchise (well, alright, one Game Boy Color game) before they switched it into a darker (and better) game. But I think Jak II triggered it. I've been seeing an awful lot of more "darker" games of cartoony characters from that point. I think it was a fad - it's hardly a thing now.
It's ironic. Jak II IS my favorite of the series, but I adore the first Jak. It had the settings of world building for their characters and planet. Jak II expanded that a bit, than it was pretty much crumbled by Jak 3 (yeah, I don't really like Jak 3, no matter how blasphemous that sounds to many Jak fans XD)

the really clever thing is the landscape still matches.
Haven forest with the temple is east of the city,, the pumping station is part of a series of linked island out to sea, further down the coast is rocky krass city....
compare that to the original game, and krass city is where rock village was, the jungle was replaced by the forest, the pumping sation is where geyser rock was. its really rare that people pay that much attention to detail in games

I got Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy as a small child from a family friend who left for college. I had no idea what the game was, I wasn't sure if I would like it, and if I had seen it in GameStop at the time, I would have ignored it.
When I played it, I LOVED IT. ESPECIALLY the final boss.
When I found Jak II a year later, I was a bit shocked by the dramatic turn, but I loved it too. But the first will always be one of my favs! DD

Crash Team Racing is an excellent kart racer. Think of it this way - it's one of the very few games of its genre that can claim to be as great as the Mario Kart series. When it was released, Mario Kart 64 was out and I can safely say, CTR is MUCH better.

I loved this game, and played it over and over for like a year. Think it might be my favorite of the series...I don't know. The 2nd and 3rd were nice in their own way, but I loved the mood of this one, and the way the world had that 'olden day' feel.
Fantastic job with this too! Great details and colors.

Agreed. It seems after the Precursor Legacy it's all "MEGA HUGE CHALLENGES WITH GUNS AND IMPOSSIBLE FEATS!"
And it's just a little unnecessary. I mean honestly, why make it SO challenging? The game is already a success, why make it harder and try so hard?
The picture is fantastic. Good old little Jak before he got that beard of his xD

To be fair, the first game was ridiculously easy that I loved the challenge in the second game. As much as I detest the "darker and edgier" push in an otherwise light game, Jak II did it right because it focused greatly on its story, characters, and overall presentation. The challenge was a nice icing, but I do agree with one thing: it is FRUSTRATING. A lot of stuff Naughty Dog put in was just mind-boggling ANNOYING and if they had fixed that, Jak II would have been perfect. (They did by Jak 3, but as good as that game was, I admit I really, REALLY do not like it as much as I wished I did). Well, almost perfect: I still just can't accept Jak with guns.
Ahaha, I actually like his goatee, but I like men with goatees. XD

It's so weird. I MUCH prefer short haired men and find long haired ones unattractive (unless they look like dudes, they end up looking so girly for me to be attracted to), yet I was all sad when Jak cut his hair in Jak 3.

LOL, this series is so AWESOME, but i totally get the wrong order of games: i started with Jak 3, Jak X Combat Racing, Jak II, Lost Frontier (sucks Goombas T.T) and finally i got Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy (i already love this game, its so colorful and Daxter is so funny ), too bad this game is kinda short (i finished in 3 days T.T, but like the other Jaks i will play again and again
).

Same here. It is a shame they kept this because Jak 2, though the start of Angry Jak, actually had him character develop to a better person. Then Jak 3 erased all that, grrr. At least Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier had him retain a nicer attitude!
