Description Dedicated and in tribute to the original Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy.

I'm just sick and tired of the goddamn angst shit with extreme guns and crap that video games have been taking and it seems unfortunate, but it seems Jak II is the possible one that started this whole trend. Frankly, I confess Jak II as my fave of the Jak series, but the original Jak and Daxter has more heart and charm then any of the other sequels. It's even ironic fans tend to skip out on the first one as well. After all, without the original Jak, there wouldn't even BE a Jak 2 and 3 and X, so you guys should be grateful for this underappreciated little gem. I love Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy.

I can point out the numerous mistakes and live with it, but I swear, if I missed out on any characters, I'm gonna scream.
~Neo

She has a combination of blue and green. Blue on the very top, green on the bottom.

Wow, that's really good! I don't think you've missed any elven (or ottsel xD) characters. If the Flutflut counts as a character, then there's that, but I don't think he/she/it does.
TPL is tied for my favorite with Jak 3. Mostly because of Damas. He's awesome. ;D

I love this picture, it's adorable.
And you're quite right, the first game had a great quality that the others lack, but I still adore the series as a whole anyway.

This is a very nice picture, I like it alot!
And I agree, the first one was kind of the best in my opinion. The scenery was so much nicer than it was in the others. In Jak 2/3/X, all you got to see was a dark city, a desert or a racetrack.
Although, I do kinda like to see Jak do some of the talking XD

But anyway, awesome pic! ^_^

I don't like to pick, but there's two Daxters. But I guess it's better that way since someone's liable to complain if you only put one version of him. This is pretty good. I like the way you gave each character an individual expression and it's not just like some boring pose for the camera. Good job.

I agree! I first played Jak1 when a friend of mine brought it over for the night. I remembered seeing the commercials, but wasnt too much of a game fan. So I said, what the hell, i'll give it a try. I didnt realise just how addicted I would get to Jak1. Its still near and dear to my heart. I actually Like keira in the first game. but in the rest.. she's just Blah. I wont go into an angsty rant about how much I hate her in later games, but she was pretty fricken cool in the first. I just loved the voice acting and witty humor that kids and adults alike could appreciate. sides, Jak could say two words 'OUCH' and 'AHHHHH'. Did anyone ever notice that? Lol

awsome picture, makes me miss Jak1. tempted to go play it now. Also makes me realise just how many characters are in the first game. *fave*

Very true. I became addicted to the Jak series myself in a similar way, but it's a shame how they screwed up the charm! They oughta give it a Kingdom Hearts-ish theme in the next game! (If they make one)

I <3333 This picture.

Jak and Daxter is a series i followed with a passion, Owning all three, the combat races and the PSP Daxter. I didn't mind the guns- For the sole reason it showed how the world had changed. Their once humble happy life in the first game turned into some twisted life becuase of the cruel things that happened. The guns to me were a symbol to how bad off his home had gotten, and to protect yourself you sadly needed one- Almost to show how sad our own world in life has gotten.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

neoyi In reply to Eiri4Ever [2007-08-01 21:29:29 +0000 UTC]

Yes, but I still can't see Jak with guns. The only reason why I loved Jak 2 was the gameplay (which was frustrating at times) and the very engaging stories, but let's face it, the Jak series evolved into the whole, "ZOMG! Mature game because it'll sell well" approach. At least by Jak 3 and Jak X in which I like to pretend those two don't exist.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Eiri4Ever In reply to neoyi [2007-08-01 22:10:04 +0000 UTC]

Ah, I see I see. Well, Jak with guns to make makes sense. He's a man on rage, and willing to do anything to fix his home, and take down a man that had in the end, ruined him. though he proves otherwise within himself training and cooping with himself. I never saw it go around the mature content becuase of it did, we'd see girls half nude and many sex-themed stories. But all this was a man trying to survive into what we find is his true home, and making what use to be right. Jak 3 was amazing becuase it took you in another world and showed the hell that happened in his home was already spreading faster than we might have thought, and Jak x was simply a filter for any other game in mind to create.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

neoyi In reply to Eiri4Ever [2007-08-01 22:20:25 +0000 UTC]

The thing is ANY weapon can be used besides guns to show Jak's rage. By the end of Jak 2 anyways, Jak's personality remained the closet he's ever gotten to his original with a more darker persona. And the only reason I give it leeway is that Jak 2's story was awesome. It matters to you and while it works in a story in context for Jak 2, by the end, I could not picture him with guns.

And again, I like to pretend Jak 3 doesn't exist for it's poorly conceived story and Jak X...which is fine in story actually, just poor in gameplay.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Eiri4Ever In reply to neoyi [2007-08-01 22:25:55 +0000 UTC]

True with the weapon, but almost all weapon can be viewed as evil, and smacked a mature rating, just hand it to some strict mother and you got yourself a whole mass issues. Jak 3 could have done a lot (the story line so complex) But it did lack, but i fell in LOVE with the art and design of it all. Jak 2 is my favorite of them, mostly becuase i am the worst drive and its fun to spend hours causing harm to everything at times ( XD )

neoyi In reply to Eiri4Ever [2007-08-01 22:41:25 +0000 UTC]

Jak 3 had potential, but it fell on it's face. I will say it hit me hard to see Haven City so downtrodden. Seeing both Mar's Memorial Stadium and Jak's palace crumbled was saddening.

Jak 2 is what I call a near masterpiece for it's time. It's not the greatest game ever, but I can safely say it's reached my top five. Too bad it does not hold Jak and Daxter's charms, though I say that in comparison to all the Jak games. Jak 1, while old in graphics is still plesant to look at from time to time.

Jak And Daxter: TPL held a warm and safe feeling that anyone saw and enjoyed to see. The art was a bit out there, creatures and characters, but all in all enjoyable. All the Jak games are in my top, simple for the story-line and how you were able to watch a story grow and turn into what many enjoyed to play and still do.

My only issues to this date, is the small talk about any new Jak games going straight to the PS3.

......I do NOT own an PS3 ;w;

I don't want any other Jak sequels in my opinion. Other then the fact I felt it downgraded by Jak 3, I'm more of the person who does not want ongoing uncessary sequels unless they're SUPER good. Which is why I can't stand Square Enix right not.

I agree, but none the less. Its upsetting most game places are not thinking of the people whom do not have the money for an upgrade on their game system, and go on making games, which in turns they can loose fans.

neoyi In reply to Eiri4Ever [2007-08-02 00:39:44 +0000 UTC]

it's not really Naughty Dog's fault. They were bought by Sony and thus is why they make only games for Sony. Sony's the one who put the price on PS3, not Naughty Dog.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Eiri4Ever In reply to neoyi [2007-08-02 01:05:49 +0000 UTC]

I know this- but its sad knowing sometimes they fail to think of those who keep going, and start making new games for new game systems. nothing is stopping them form making new games for older ones. But they seem to always forget half the time.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

neoyi In reply to Eiri4Ever [2007-08-02 01:49:46 +0000 UTC]

The thing is NDI is pretty much bought by Sony and can ONLY make games for a Sony system as far as I'm concerned. They are no longer a third party developer nor a second, they are a first party for Sony and only Sony. it's not a matter of choice, they're under contract to do so since Sony bought them out or something of that matter. That means Sony basically "owns" ND and all it's characters. That means they're stuck with Sony unless the developers quit or Sony lets them go and whatnot.

It's like Pixar's recent acquirment from Disney where they can only make movies for Disney. It's not a matter of forgetting, but the legal bind they're in. That's what's stopping them.

I love this! I agree, Jak TPL is a gem. The fact that Jak just goes around fighting with his bare hands is just what makes him a hero. Aslo he looks very cute in that game with his sheer sticking-up hair. I just want to ruffle it.

I think my favourite character in that whole game though is the sculptor's muse, and Daxter really deserves to thrust it in Jak's backpack thing when I finally caught it after about an hour of running around Misty Island. Β¬_Β¬
