My take on Aerodactyl, in the 80x80 size limit like in Diamond, Pearl and Platinum.

Much like the old Sinnoh legendary sprites, only this time with the size and palette restrictions.

Seems so...chibi...if it were mine I wouldn't be satisfied, but maybe that's the effect you are going for?

Indeed. Most my old work here took me like 12+ hours...Never posted anything until I was damn satisfied and at least three others had confirmed stylistically it was close enough to the official style. Now...I haven't done digital work in a good while, my hands on stuff...I'm just as exacting in...probably would be better at the digital now, but I have not the time.

Then why is your gallery full of sprite splices and edits? You do realize those are against the site rules?

once upon a time they were illustrations of fakemon related to originals used on a site that was very strict about looking like official sprites...I moved them all here later as the site was closing to have a permanent home for them...and advice on them outside of the site, which is full of people that would tear down anything until it was perfect in their eyes...easier to use scrutiny of people here than there...god.

I know what you mean. Have you tried asking for advice on the tSR forums ( [link] )? I usually find the critique there pretty good.

Ahh, Aerodactyl! Definitely one of my favourite Pokemon, you've done an excellent job on the pose and putting your personal touch on him. I really like how you've done the wings also, it's definitely smooth and well-designed.:3

Hmm, interesting take on Aerodactyl. The wings look quite different, but I like it! I wish I could get mine to look as smooth and clean as yours.

Pixeling is easier if you take a look at different sprites from different people / games, so you can eye how the lineart is in each.

The Spriters Resource is a great place to seek inspiration.
