Description
Just a really small update this time but it's better than nothing, right? A Whittle from Super Mario Galaxy 2 with a cheering-type of animation. The head is just a little wobbly which I'll try to fix.Whittle article on Mariowiki: [link]

Base frames drawn in Microsoft Paint, animated in Animation Shop 3.

Hey I remember that thing. You sprited it in Mario and Luigi 3 style right? Holy.. that's just crazy. Still gotta figure out how to animate the sprites.

Did you have a reference for size when you made this, or are they actually this big? It's been a while since I've seen Mario next to a Whittle...

It's part of my larger scale M&L collection, remember? I don't draw them to scale with BiS.
And I didn't use a reference on the size when I made this, instead going by memory. Not too good an idea, I know. I didn't think to actually check their height in relation to Mario up until now, and well, they're as big as Mario himself in SMG2: [link]
They seem to be slightly smaller in Mario Party 9: [link]

Of course I remember, it's just that this guy seemed smaller than the rest in the collection, comparatively.
And, actually, it's the perfect size compared to normal M&L Mario... if you're going by unaltered Galaxy proportions; as a general rule, though, I always scale down anything from Galaxy/2 by 77%. You've probably noticed that any character besides Mario is huge in the Galaxy series... If you're wondering where I got the number, it was by comparing Hammer Bro, Goomba, Koopa, etc. to their sizes from other games.
tl;dr After comparing, your Whittle is a little smaller than it should be next to large-scale Mario, even after downsizing proportions 23%. Doesn't really matter though, no reason to redo it unless you want to - it's just as awesome either way.

Your wood looks so smooth..
Well, your pixel art in general is super smooth really. For sure something I aspire to. I think maybe a one pixel 'bob' wouldn't have looked out of place.

These guys reminded me of sackboy when I first saw them. Excellent sprite work as usual :3

Looks great to me! Nothing to say against it at all, it's very cute. I thought this was out of Monster Hunter at first, not Super Mario Galaxy 2. Shows how much I know about gaming, pfft.

Well Whittle is a pretty new and not very popular character even among Mario fans so I can't really blame you. They're actually a species but this particular head is the most well-known variety. Added a Mariowiki link to the description, their info on these guys is better than I can make up on the spot.

The wood ring pattern was really tricky to make on this here Whittle but I think it turned out nicely, and like you said makes it look more like wood than it would without. Currently working on a Whomp and I've got the body finished but animating the giant is gonna take a long time.
