I haven't done one of these "pitch blackness" pics in a long time. Here Tails and Mecha are having a conversation by the light of Tails's glowing sphere. Tails has been dying to talk to Mecha but has been too afraid to do it until this point. Mecha doesn't care either way, and they wind up almost making friends. Almost. Yep, it's from a fanfic called Worthless that I just finished. It's, er, kind of the sequel to Sonic Heroes, after Mecha gets trashed in the final battle. I recommend you read my Sonic Heroes adapt first. ([link] ) You can read Worthless here: [link]

The lighting on this pic is phenomonal... although the concept is a little weird that Tails would be talking to Metal at all. o_o

Gosh, that glow effect really came out fantastic! ^__^ Cool idea with the glowing sphere there. I had thought it was fire intil I realised Tails was holding it. XD
You did great with placing the lighting. The other visable parts of the drawing are cool too, like the tree for example. =] I like Mecha's relaxed pose, sorta slouching back, and Tails looking pert, and interested. I like his sitting position with the hand over the sphere. That looks great.
Maybe next time include a little piece of story? ^__^

Mecha looks very organic in this pic ... odd and part-melted like clay. His right arm especially looks unusual for him. I think he's making a transition of some kind, as if that weren't obvious.
The impression I got was that Tails was going to be angsting too, in this fic. Very good that he's not. He looks bright and cheerful in this pic; you're very good at drawing him. ^.^
Even with brightness turned up all the way, though, I still can't make out that blue thing in the background. I mean, I know it's Sonic, but ...

You think Mecha looks freaky in this pic, you should have seen the lineart. He had muscles and stuff in his joints. It's hard making him look "semi-organic", because it really freaks your mind out.
And the thing back there is supposed to be Tails's tails. I think I need to fix that.

I love how you shade NR ._. Iss so beautiful and it sets such an interesting mood to the picture. *pets Tails* So cute, he's just babbling on and on and Mecha looks ready to hit him. XD
