Description
Class 1930's 1946 prepares to arrive at Casa Branca, in the Alentejo Line, with the 9h10 592/3 Intercity train from Lisboa-Oriente towards Beja.If it weren't for the paint on the coaches, or the operator's uniform signaling it's OK to proceed (or the modern-looking ties under the locomotive), one could easily say this was a picture from the '80's or '90's. But, as you can already guess, things are bound to change. In the next months, the electric wire will reach Évora, alongside the definitive modernization of the line between Bombel, Casa Branca and Évora, and the replacement of the old telephonically-controlled block by the more modern automatic block, which is fare more safer. For all this, the line will be suspended for some time - and, by the time it'll be reopened again, these locomotives will have been withdrawn.
