Made in Vue 9 xStreamCreated this image for e-onsoftware's 2011 "3D Environment Competition"
Any constructive criticism will be much appreciated! I'd like to know what I have to work on, what I'm getting right... so I continue to grow as an artist.

Not too long when I compare it to some of the other stuff I've done.
The render probably took 4-5 hours, and about a week to create the scenery and get the right shot.

I find that the contrast between the right part which is clearer and the left part is strange, because it would indicate that there is one sun on the top in the sky, and another one implied by the fact that the trees are lightened.
But that' the only thing I could say, I would not have noticed that it was not a pic if it was not written so very good job!

WOw- That looks amazing! Is Vue really good at making plants an outdoor stuff? It looks like it is- From what I've seen lately. Lots of people with the best most realistic looking outdoor enviroments seem to use Vue. I was just wondering...to say the least this is amazing. ^_^

VUE is great! I use it for the specific purpose of creating outdoor environments with it... mostly landscapes. It's very powerful, can be somewhat difficult, but the results are like you said: amazing!

It's all in 3D. With similar programs that animators use to do Pixar movies.

The vegetation loos quite real and so does the water... That blurred part in the down right part doesnt look such as good.

This is really beautiful work, your composition, terrain and textures are just gorgeous. I think where you need to improve is in your overall atmosphere. The low clouds hovering around the one mountain are beautiful, but taken in context of the whole, it seems a little out of place, it needs to be tied to something. You may decide a little mist on the water will be the fix or perhaps extend the low clouds to the other terrains, something to give it continuity. Anyway, that's all I can suggest, it really is a wonderful scene.

crits:
-To make it more realistic watch out with the saturation of you sky and the trees on the right versus the overall saturation, the palms saturation is permitted cause of the sss.
-The mountains in the back get a nice atmospheric depth but mountains also tend to have a gradient from bottom to top (bottom has more sky color than top), This way the silhouette of the mountains get better.
- some sparkles in the water would be nice 
- maybe some shadows cast from clouds on the mountain in the back.
