Description
I love this shot. The light on this morning was fantastic and the sun was nicely diffused whilst it was rising.I had to do very little to these deer shots. Love em.

It's such a cutie. Great shot!
The deer's face and the tips of the grass around her really stand out.

The one thing that bothers me about this is the composition. It's really static because the deer's right in the middle.
I think this would have looked even better with a tighter, vertical crop. That way, you'd cut out the extra bits of background on the sides. You'd also focus even more on the deer, especially the face, since it would end up on an intersection of the thirds-lines.
That being said, I do like the deer's expression, as well as how you're on the same level with it, and how it stands out from the background.
This looks really good as it is, but I do think the composition could be better

Thanks for the comment. I disagree about the compositon however. 90% of the time, central subjects fail out right - however in this shot I wanted to give the image room to 'breathe' and show the natural surroundings and habbitat of the deer I have portrait and tighter crop versions on my website at [link]
g=4 Please feel free to check it out
once again, thanks for the feedback mucha ppreciated!

Your reasoning's pretty good, but I still think you could have cropped it a little more while still giving it room to breathe
You're welcome Keep up the good work

I could - but its not how I wanted the shot and as I said, I have cropped versions of it
thanks again

I prefer this one somehow - love it. The light is super and the curiosity caught in the animals expression makes for a very strong wildlife portrait.
I'm still not entirely sure about the background but it is much subtler here.

yeah on these two shots I couldn't get any lower. I was already laying in a ditch and there was a bush just under the lens barrell It was only when the deer got closer I could eliminate the horizon
