Description
On the night of 20th December 2023 at York, Brighton B4 Locomotive Group-owned LB&SCR B4 class 4-4-0 No. 64 'Norfolk' is being prepared for two nights of night time White Christmas magic. In 2022, the group used the sole surviving Brighton B4 to haul a special Christmas lights train but on the mainline as a first in UK steam preservation. The intention was to bring the joy of the light train from the heritage railways to the large cities while also rounding of the group's season with a magical glow. The train was last year consisted of five coaches (including the BR Mk1 BSO support coach) but for 2023, the train has been increased to seven coaches to allow more light to be seen. These trains are expected to operate only on Christmas Eve and Christmas Night.
