Old commission that's still unfinished. Why? Because I realized I have a lot to learn yet, and I do not wish to turn out sub-par artwork. For anyone.
Every project I take on, I know that I will have to teach myself something new. What I can never gauge is *how long* it'll take to gather the necessary lessons and learn them. For me, it's like the tale of the artist who took 5 years to draw a koi. When the commissioner finally lost patience, he visited the artist, demanding his koi. He got it, but only after learning that the artist had done a thousand drawings of koi, but was not satisfied until he had drawn the koi PROPERLY.

For better or worse, this is the kind of creator I am. Luckily, years of searching have yielded the right kinds of lessons, and I am confident that this and other commissions will be finished soon. I have so much to do...
