Another finished piece! This belongs to a big Palladium Books fan, who wanted me to illustrate his original beastie. You know, pencil sketches really aren't that bad once you sit down and have fun with them... ^_^This one pushed my comfort zone a bit. Detailed, but not too much; 3 to 3.5 meters tall, as opposed to my normal battleship-sized beauties; a golem of sorts, instead of my standard biomecha. All in all, I'm pretty happy with it.

This guy reminds me a (little) bit of Aura Battler Dunbine...Also takes me back to your journal entry on the topic of "What Are Mecha"? I'd love to know what's going on inside this guy, but at the same time I'm not sure I'd have the stomach for it.

Yeah, this was a commission for a guy from my last con. Frankly, I don't want to know what's going on inside there, either... >_< I think if I had to do it over, Aura Battler proportions would be a good fit, and really improve the design overall. But, I gots mah own mechs to draw yet - so commissions are in and out the door! ^__^

My first thought was an invid merged with a veritech, but it's much more than that. Love the eyes in the knees. Kick ass stuff.

Yeah, I kinda liked the knee-eyes myself. Interesting weak point - one could conceivably incapacitate the monster with a boot to the knee! There's a twisted humor in that... ^_^
