Amidst sundry other doodles, here's a few little sketches. I was primarily trying to see what Vodyaoi would look like in human clothing, particularly more draping types...there's still a LOT of work to do there, but it was fun nonetheless. The Khepri sketch I'm more pleased with, it took a while to figure out how much like a beetle and how much like a face I wanted their headscarabs to look like, but I think this is closer to what I envisioned.Related content

I really enjoy all your takes on the Bas Lag species, but if I could offer one little suggestion:
The Vodyanoi are amphibious, so I imagine they would wear as little clothing as they could get away with, seeing as amphibians breathe through their skin. Their actual anatomy is perfect in my opinion, I just thought I'd throw that one idea out there.

Wow. I love the way you've put a beetle on Khepri's neck and still kept him reasonably humanoid. Would you mind if I took inspiration from it? Only I've got quite a few failed Khepri drawings around
I like the way you've done the Vodyanoi as well. It reminds me a lot of Bilibin's version ( [link] ). A little frog and a little catfish and very Fungus the Bogeyman. What did you base it on?
