Description This was part of my 11th grade pottery project and the only year I disliked the teacher. She got mad at me for destroying earlier art I wasn't proud of and nagged about how I needed to make larger pieces. We made amends in her jewelry class the following year and I took her Sculpture A class again the year after that so I could make more clay pieces again.

For this project we took slabs of clay and made a stamp and a stencil. Traced the stencil on the slabs and pressed our stamps in the clay to create patterns. I didn't have much time to top it off so I took the mold I made for the pieces of my chess set and used that to create a wolf to go on top. After it was bisque fired she had us choose two glazes, a dark one went on first and then was wiped off and then a lighter one went right over it. For some reason she told me I shouldn't use a mold again. Dunno why though because I even made the figure the mold was cast from.

I like it. I can't tell, is the dark glaze in grooves on the slabs? I like how it turned out.

Yep, I only wiped off the glaze on the outer most surface and then went over the entire piece with a lighter glaze.

Sounds awesome. I usually do that with stain.
