Description LIGHTS&GRADIENTS tutorial
for photoshop
by nicole.kittygirl112

hello

I decided to publish a tutorial i made two months ago,
so have fun and please and comment (:

N-O-T-E-S
***********************
My english isn't that great,
feel free to correct my mistakes here ><
I'll appreciate that.

***********************
DO N-O-T copy and published this tut
with-out my permission!
***********************
I made this SIMPLE
artwork ONLY for this tut
***********************
This in NOT a tut for a FULL
ONLY for some effects and tips
for the final touch
***********************
This tutorial requires knowledge with the
photoshop's environment & tools
***********************
You don't have to
follow all the 10 steps
some of them (like #8) are just an extra
***********************

The tutorial
***********************
step 1
First we will make our basis.
I took 3 pics from this site [link]
and simply combined them to a basis layer
(you can add some brushes, patterns and etc.)
***********************
step 2
Open a new layer, and with the PAINT BUCKET TOOL
fill the new layer with white OR black color
Then, change the layer's mood from NORMAL to COLOR
***********************
step 3
Now we are going to play with the true colors
by using the GRADIENT TOOL and some gradients i made:

[link]

[link]

load them to your PS and choose one that you would
like to use in the new layer which you'll
define as LIGHTEN or SCREEN
(you can allways add some more gradient's layers for a multi-colored creation)
***********************
step 4
press CTRL+M for the CURVES
and define them the way you prefer
(:
***********************
step 5
as you can see i added two extre layers of CURVES+GRADIENT
***********************
step 6
OK,in a new layer define the colors in the
TOOLS to black&white
Use the gradient tool as a RADIAL GRADIENT
and define this layer as LIGHTEN
***********************
step 7
Add some more RADIAL GRADIENTS layers
(the same way i described on #6)
in which color you want
i overdo it on purpose to demonstrate
***********************
step 8
Open a new layer
select part of your creation COPY,and PASTE INTO
change it to black&white and define the layer as LIGHTEN
***********************
step 9
GREAT!
for our last addition,COPY MERGED (all layers) and PASTE
them into a NEW layer.
GO to:
FILTER--->RENDER---> LIGHTING EFFECTS
choose CIRCLE OF LIGHT (see pic #9)

**you can also use the texture i made:
[link]
[link]
***********************
step 10
wee ^_^ well done, you can add your NICK,brushes
and more pictures to complete your creation
***********************

I hope you will use this tut
(i would love to see it)

I have used your tutorial here: [link]

I have Photoshop Elements 2.0 and I had to use Levels instead of the Curves command. Other than that, the tutorial was easy to follow.
