Description This came out as part of test renders for work, and trying to get glass to render faster.
Results from testing:
- Refractive Caustics makes almost no difference and adds so much noise - turn it off. (if you have only couple of glass objects and they r the focus of your scene, leave it on! After alot of render time it looks more realistic)
- Its faster to render bigger with lot less samples and scale it down to get rid of noise, compared to render with alot more samples to get the same result.
- Clamp Direct and Indirect at 5 you still get the highlights but no firefly's.
- Do couple of low res renders to see what is the lowest amount of Bounces you can get away with. I ended up with Max:12 Min:6 (for you it maybe be different)

Samples: 400
Render time: started with ~4h, ended up with: 26min
Tools: Blender 3D(Cycles render engine), Photoshop final compositing.

Another piece that shows off your awesomeness in blender! I love the small details of realism you put into it x3 The dust on the bottles and the shiny dust in the air and some of the bottles look dirty
And I love how you put light into this scene! Looks super realistic

Thank you! This came out of bunch of testing and trying to figure out glass in blender and get the render time down.

Uh! Reducing rendertimes without loosing quality is some kind of science So, I know where to ask, if I do 3D-stuff again 8D

hehe if you want to call it science.. im fine with that. But its more like, push all the buttons and see what works. I did lose some of quality but it can be fixed in post with AfterEffects.
