I really want to try Substance Painter but I'm scared I will love it and I can't afford it right now and also last I checked it didn't have a Linux version and I'm going to be transplanting the art part of my rig into a linux box soon as I can afford one XD

Don't worry about it Substance Painter is yust a tool to speed up things. You can make what ewer you want with just Blender and Gimp/Photoshop.

I have 3d Coat (which is part of the reason I don't have money for Substance Painter, could get one or the other XD). I know I could do it with Blender and some painter of choice, I just hate dealing directly with UV maps How is Substance Painter anyway?

Overall its a great software. The thing that made me get it r the simulation brushes and the paint layers similar to Photoshop. I got it when it was on Steam salle for 80$.
