I'll start off with saying how as soon as you see this, you can get strong emotions out of it.

I love the was the colours and the lighting match so well. The way her hair is and the emotion on her face and how she is holding onto the rope gives the idea of a struggle of trying to get out of the nightmare, even though it's a pointless struggle. Also, she being barefoot adds to how well thought out the composition of this picture was planned out.

In my opinion this is a very emotive piece and one of my new favorites from you. Good job! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Big Grin)"/> and continue capturing lovely and strong pictures that give out the idea that you are going for. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)"/>

So.. Let me say that I felt proud when you told me your idea to take this picture.
I had a totally different image of it and your picture is much more emotive and.. just more lovelier (if that word really exists).

Donna is a really beautiful model and she's doing great!

Technically it's perfect, you used a composition that draws the attention to the model and the use of a white dress to contrast from the dark trees is also well chosen.
You could have cut it a bit different, the right tree is cut a bit. I wonder how it looked like if it was completely in the picture.
I really like her expression. There's something.. desperate in it which makes the watcher curious why she is so nervous and desperate.

All in all, it's well done!
As always, Nikolas. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/h/h… " width="38" height="15" alt="" title="Hug"/>

Keep up that great work!

Thank you so much for your words, Oli! At the part with the cutting, I didn't cut it in the first place, this is how it naturally was shot. I am wondering how it would have looked a different way indeed!

Ohmygod. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/e/e… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Eek)"/>
As soon as I saw this picture, I felt a cold, strong hand grasping my heart.

The Fear.

The Pain.

All these things that you try to forget.
In vain.

Nightmares that won't let you go so easily, not without scarring you first, leaving their ugly marks to remind you that they do
existed,
that they are r e a l.

Ok, enough with the poetic over-emotional rant. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/g/g… " width="17" height="15" alt="" title="Giggle"/> e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title="Blush"/>

This is for sure, one of the most powerful images I've seen in a while. Everything, from the model's pose and her facial expression to the tight fists and flying hair is perfect. You have managed to capture that one perfect moment when everything was what you needed for the concept to be flawlessly depicted.

I can literally f e e l her struggle, the inner fight that's going on in her soul.
I wouldn't change a thing.

I am amazed.
This is a genuine piece of art.
Congratulations.

It's not my critique that made you speechless..I think it's the realization of the power your artwork contains and the effect it has on the viewers.
My words are nothing more than the true, raw emotions your picture made me experience.
And for that, I should be the only one to say thank you.
You should be proud of yourself Nikolas.

Gosh.
I don't know why, but when I look at this picture, I want to create something. (Maybe draw something which has the same atmosphere as this photo. What a pity I'm not very good at drawing! )
Seriously, the word "expressive" is very true for this picture!

Wow!I still can't get how you manage to put so much emotion in simply a photo(of course, there is not such a thing as"simply a photo,an image is worth a thousand words etc.",but still...!!!

I adore the concept, and I must say that the symbolisms are really strong on this one.Congratulations!

The only thing that I'd prefer is that Donna actually had her mouth open,as if she's screaming. But this way, closed and struggling, looks as if she's all silent, maybe drowning in her nightmares, trying to escape...I'm amazed of how much a little detail can change the whole image and my ideas-thoughts on it!

Your work is really adorable, keep up!

So, I have been looking at the photo for the last couple of days trying to think of a way to critique it. I just love it. It shows so many powerful emotions. Probably the only bad thing I can say is not about the photo itself, but the fact that your model seems like she showed the emotions in her face and the top half of her, but not in her legs. Could be that you didn't capture it in the right moment. I don't know. It is still a chilling photograph and I love your sense of beauty!

the tension and pose is very well executed.fantastic display of struggle and fright is displayed on her face .The small attention to details adds to the atmosphere ( the bruised knee and the way the feet are place)

I just find that its a shame that the photo isn't edited to have more of a dreamy unclear feel .In my opinion more vignetting around the edges would look wonderful as I find that the bright bokeh on the left side of the image a bit distracting.

deliciously haunting.

I typed three critiques before I gave up. A hundred word limit is too restricting, in my opinion, to properly critique someone creative work. So I'll sum up what I was going to say. The idea isn't original, but it's well done. The composition is nice, although the asymmetry of the space on either side of the trees makes me twitch a bit. I like that the only things in focus are the model, the trees, and the ropes. There's a lot of symbolism, either intentional or not, in this picture that makes it really stand out to me. The model is doing a brilliant job. All in all, very well done. I certainly like it.
