I'm so, so, SOOOOO sick of people shitting on the beautiful relationship that Cadence and Shining Armor have. She is a loving wonderful bride and people treat her like crap. Always making fun of her and making her out to be a harpy and tyrant. There's not enough artwork that shows what their relationship is really like so I decided to fix that at least a little.Related content

Lol, sorry. I get a little annoyed with fans when they insult Cadance, for whatever reason. She's my favorite character at it feels a little personal (even though I know it's not). Sorry to get all in your face like that.Β

Yowza! I never realized that there were artists doing things like that with Cadence and Armor's relationship. I normally just see the positive stuff. Guess as the old saying goes, "For every side of 'Light', there is always a side of 'Darkness' to go with it." ~Unknown

I personally think Shining Armor is just a big crybaby (After episode 100 especially.) And she just gets frequently embarrassed by some of the things he says/does.

I don't know. I do like the idea of Shining getting emotional during weddings. Makes him a big softie at heart and I imagine it's one of the myriad of reasons why Cadance loves him. As for that particular scene, I don't think Cadance was embarrassed. I interpreted that scene as her trying to hush her husband so he wouldn't disturb the procession. On the other hand, we didn't see Shining crying during his own wedding so that may have been a one-time thing in E100.Β
The tender embrace the two shared during Mayor Mare's speech is also a nice, silent touch on their part to show their deep affection for one another. All in all, Cadance may not be as fleshed out as the other characters in the official MLP mediums but she is devoted to her beloved certainly.

This, for the most part. Except that Cadance is way more developed than people give her credit for. She's probably more developed than Celestia and more consistent than Luna.Β
I don't think she was hushing him or embarrassed, just trying to explain to the ponies staring at her that he always does this and that there was nothing wrong with him, because they were showing concern, not frustration. Cadance is by far the least "princessy" of the alicorns, despite being the pinkest (Twilight excluded), so I can't imagine her ever being embarrassed by Shining.Β
He didn't cry at his own wedding, because it was his own and he has to maintain some degree of decorum, and because at that point, I think Cadance and Shining were both ready to get it over with (they don't even do vows, Celestia uses their magical love as vows enough).Β
Personally, I think Shining being able to cry (he does it in 100th ep and when Twilight gets crowned) is an important thing for both young boys and young girls to see. Men are too often told to bottle it up, or risk being called wimps and crybabies. Personally, as a straight female, men that can cry are incredibly attractive to me.Β
I LOVED that embrace, it was sweet, subtle, and perfect. Β

How is she a harpy/Tyrant? Β As far as I can tell, she just kinda has an action itch to scratch/is not as "emotional" as Shining. Β Possibly due to her imprisonment time.
