Description This comic series is a side story from this comic series: [link]

[Part 1 - Rook ]

[Part 2 - Crabapple ]

[Part 3 - Luau ]

[Part 4 - Rose Petal ]

[Part 5 - Winter Willow ]

[Part 6 - The Garden ]

[Part 7 - The Fall ] <==== You are here

[Part 8 - Epilogue ]

SO MUCH TO SAY!

  • Willow did NOT use "the stare" on Crabapple. She does not and never will possess that particular ability. She used something else that will be more clear in the final comic

  • This is the second longest comic I've made, but this one required some crazy angles, posing, and artistic ability that really pushed me. I know it's not perfect, but dang... I'm proud of what I've been able to do (especially in the painted parts).

  • For those who've been asking: this comic took more than 60 hours, used 436 photoshop layers, 10 custom backgrounds, 154 different pony poses, and... whew. Lots of stuff.

  • If you read my original series and the "Luna's Reports" series, you know that the elements inhabited the ponies themselves after their use. You can see each pony showing signs of their new abilities immediately afterwards. These will be explained in greater detail at a later time.

  • For those who read the original four comics, didn't you ever wonder how Celestia got down from space with that broken wing? Now you know. (also note that this comic was planned from that time, I just couldn't fit this all in so I made it it's own side-story.

Thanks to Hasbro and for the wonderful world of ponies!

Thanks to for a lot of inspiration!

awesome comic I loved how at the end rose basically allowed crabapple to use a majorly amped up version of the royal canterlot voice

Exactly! That's what I was shooting for. Consider that the ponies are used to responding to that voice so Crabapple used that to his benefit. He's a crafty lil-fella.

Breathtaking! That's the only word I can use to describe this! The harships that tug at my heart. The embodiment of love of that mass of pegasi was a shock and awe to behold! Crabapple cracking a tooth before giving what must have been a ground breaking speech, which led to the peaceful and love filled Equestria that we know, desire, and care for ourselves today! All the little things such a details, from the expressions and ways you drew them, to the elements of harmony clipped in their tails, not to mention the way it intertwines with all your other comics! Your comics are truly the most epic, awesome, sorrowful, heartwarming, and of course breathtaking ones I've ever read! And when it's finally over, I look forward to whatever tale you weave next for us my friend. Keep being awesome!

Thank you! Yeah, I had to have them on the tails since in the first comic, you couldn't see them. Besides, it sort of makes sense with wanting to take NMM by surprise.

Awesome as always, but there are a few things that i quite don't understand (Don't know if you can call them contradictions), It's about Celestia's...jewelry? i think you could call them like that since they are not clothes , why when she activated the elements her jewelry came back? Is her tiara the element of magic? If so, why in the real story p2, she left it behind when she went to rescue Luna...also in the falling Celestia scene, when you zoom in, there's no tiara nor necklace, things that should be there (btw i saw you started using that pencil style ^^). Also in the sqaure just below the TO WING! SAVE THE PRINCESS!, one of the guards in the tower is an earth pony, it was supposed to be like that or it was supposed to be a pegasus too? Oh i spotted pinkamena on the comic...or maybe her greatgreatgreatgreatgreatgreatgreatgreatgrand mother . Also willow didn't use The Stare, she used The Glare!...Winter Willow used Glare. Enemy Crabbaple is paralyzed ...Also know that you mention the RS, in the part 4 in the second comic square...Celestia has 2 right wings .....wow long post...sorry bout that XD

Nimaru In reply to Brunitop [2012-05-04 04:56:56 +0000 UTC]

Her jewelry appears with the use of the elements just like it did for Twilight. In the Real Story, you can see them appearing though in this case, I just had the jewels glowing and hoped it was clear

I did forget the jewelry when she's falling, but that should be the only time I forgot it. I can pretend her hair hides the crown, but I really borked it on the necklace. Too used to drawing her naked after all these comics I guess. Huh.. That dude doesn't have wings does he? Oh well. I'm sure there are guards from each of the three pony types

Okay, I'm confused...why build a new capital?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Nimaru In reply to BlackWidower [2012-05-04 04:52:11 +0000 UTC]

Remember the elements were found in the ancient castle of the two sisters? Deep in the Everfree forest? So we know that Canterlot wasn't there 1000 years ago. I'm using this event to start it's creation

BlackWidower In reply to Nimaru [2012-05-04 19:52:34 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I understand why you included that plot point. But that doesn't explain why the characters decided to abandon the old capital, and build a new one.

From their point of view, why did they do that?

Nimaru In reply to BlackWidower [2012-05-04 21:38:59 +0000 UTC]

Think about the ponies that were hurt and killed. It symbolically and emotionally signals a new beginning.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

BlackWidower In reply to Nimaru [2012-05-04 22:56:03 +0000 UTC]

But it's a waste of resources and I think it would be more inspiring to say: We will rebuild and everything will be like it always was, as we begin anew, we will learn to live on, and not just pack up and leave every time something bad happens.

It's like this one episode of Penn and Teller Bullshit, where they were talking about the rebuilding of Ground Zero. They came up with various proposals for what should be built on the site of the former World Trade Centers. They came up with two towers made of pizza and bacon, but their last proposal was to bulid two towers identical to the former World Trade Centers.

"See, business as usual motherfuckers, FUCK YOU! We're going to keep doing what we've always done in America, we're going to keep being free, and doing whatever the fuck we want." - Penn Jillette to the assholes who took down the towers

[link]

Not only that...who was hurt and killed? I think you skipped over that part. Or more explicitly, you forgot to mention HOW they were killed.

I'd understand if half the city was taken out and the land was being taken over by what is now the Everfree forest. So they thought it would be easier and safer to get the hell out of dodge. But that's just me.

Remember when Nightmare moon "redecorated the castle"? It was in the first comic series and also when Rook went to get Crabapple (the rock explosion). The hurt and killed ponies were in the hospital scene when Willow was introduced.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

BlackWidower In reply to Nimaru [2012-05-05 02:56:14 +0000 UTC]

NO! No, you skipped over that! You showed the aftermath and all, but you never showed how they got injured. You never showed the impact of that, it appeared to be added in as an afterthought.

Even then, it's pretty weak reasoning for evacuation.

Nimaru In reply to BlackWidower [2012-05-05 03:21:25 +0000 UTC]

Attack by a superpowerful, angry, and destructive force? Granted, they only evacuated the palace, but if you're referring to my reasoning for evacuating the city, I didn't every come up with any specific reason other than "a new beginning". I'm sure I could come up with something better given time, but I'm not sure of the need to at the moment.

Nimaru In reply to BlackWidower [2012-05-06 19:26:09 +0000 UTC]

Certainly

I do consider a lot, but can't fill in every possibility without some effort. In this case, mostly the reason for changing was because it was consistent with canon material, and not anything I thought up specifically.

BlackWidower In reply to Nimaru [2012-05-06 19:36:58 +0000 UTC]

Well, to be honest you could have just omitted it, and assumed the move happened after a big disaster a century or two later.

Actually, I'm writing a character sheet for her now. It will be similar to the ones I did for the mane 6 in my "Reports" comic series. I'll be doing one for each of the five

Would I be right is guessing that eventually Crabapple left Canterlot and traveled Equestria until his decendents returned and were granted a parcel of land by Celestia which became Sweet Apple Acres?

Close. I actually have a different idea, but it's very similar and will be explained in the next (and final) comic (final for this set anyway).
