Mmmm....hopefully... but I leave incredibly early tomorrow for a black-footed ferret survey which will take up the rest of my spring break, so it all depends on whether or not I can finish the next page tonight. Not looking good...

Oh yay! I was worried that I wouldn't have any nit-picks to combat this week!

Well, when Terra first joined the Titans they found her wandering around, sleeping in caves, being chased by giant scorpions. She had no home and no family (as far as they knew). Unlike wandering Terra, Gypsum does have a home and a family, which on the surface seems to indicate that she couldn't be the same homeless girl. Of course, only Rose (and Jericho now, who saw Gypsum's thoughts when he possessed her) know exactly who her "family" is, and Jericho knows something fishy is going on because of that. His uncle (Wade DeFarge) has no children, and Gypsum claims to be Rose's (and Jericho's) cousin. He will confront Rose about this alone later.

Ok, I really need to catch up on the comic book pedigree(uncle who now?). But, if they didn't no anything either way about Terra's family, they could asume now that she ran away, like Rose did, or something. I'm just trying to understand why Gypsum being related to the Wilsons means withoutadoubt that she is not Terra.

Question: if Gypsum is not Terra, than is she a brainwashed clone?

Wade DeFarge is Slade's half-brother, one of the Ravagers. Terra never spoke of her family. It doesn't mean that she's without-a-doubt Terra, but it does mean that she's very, very likely a different person. If Terra had family in or near Jump City, she wouldn't have been wandering around before she arrived there. The likelihood of Terra having a family (if the Titans assume she does have some extant family members) living near the city is rather low.

I never said that she wasn't Terra... The characters said that. I shall not say whether she is a brainwashed clone or an amnesiac Terra. It shall be revealed in time. Just keep paying attention to the varying levels of fishiness to discover which fishy odor is the correct one.

Yeah, it's sort of hard between the salmon-fishy, the squid-fishy and the all around we're-near-the-ocean fishy. Who can tell? Oh, right - you.
I guess what's most confusing is that you keep contradicting yourself in replies. First it's very unlikely she is Terra, then your hinting that 'that's just what the characters said' and even if Gypsum isn't Terra, she sure acts like she knows the Titans and they had something to do with her having powers. You don't have to answer any of this, just please post more comic so I can understand what's going on.

BTW, Slade and Wade - The bothers rhyme.

I'm sorry if I seem like I'm contradicting myself--I was only trying to respond appropriately to each of your questions individually. I know what's going on obviously, but I don't want to reveal these deep, dark secrets prematurely. What I meant is that according to the Titans' point of view (what with their limited and one-sided perception of the situation), it seems unlikely that Gypsum is Terra due to the variation in apparent environmental conditions (Terra being a wanderer, Gypsum living with her family in Jump City for example), even in spite of the physical similarities. I added confusion when I factored in Jericho and Rose's different perspectives. Because they know Gypsum's "family" (and surely Rose knows more than she leads on), Jericho may have a slightly different opinion than the Titans. To complicate things further, Rose MUST know the truth, having lived with Lisa, whether or not she tells Joey the full story. But I won't say whose idea is right, or whether any of them are. Just know that there isn't a certain answer at this point in the story.

If you're trying to get the real answer to this deep, dark secret, I can't tell you that. Sorry! That's why you have to keep reading.
