Description
D21-Sita and D28-Gemma
Young Sita carrying her daughter, Gemma.
Sita gave birth to Gemma at just 10 years of age and unfortunately Gemma was born small and sickly. Sita shows extreme tactile behavior towards her daughter. She is often seen lifting, bumping and touching Gemma. We believe that Gemma may frequently get tired from swimming and Sita 'carries' her daughter to keep up with the pod.
In the wild, 1 in 2 baby orcas don't survive their first year of life, and unfortunately Gemma is part of those sad statistics. Gemma passed away at 9 months old. We witnessed Sita carrying her daughter for the last time after she passed away, which can be seen here: fav.me/d7l46u6

Thank you! Yep these guys are mine I love drawing my own characters to bring some life into them. I see a lot of people with characters they never draw. I don't want to neglect my babies XD

Aww, that's great. I love creating characters, too. Fanart is fun every once in a while, but I find creating your own stuff is much more rewarding.

Nim you have mastered the art of making me smile whenever you post haha!
This piece is very lovely and I love how soft the shading is and jsut how the whole piece in general is just very kind to the eyes if that makes sense lol
Despite the sad ending for these two it is nice to see then in a happy moment c:
As always I look forward to seeing more from you!

Thanks Luka!
I needed a nice pic of these two 'happy' together
I haven't been able to draw much lately (from lack of time and lack of motivation) but I do have so many ideas in my head! Often they don't get past the sketch phase before I lose all concentration and stop. On the upside that means I have a lot of sketches ready to draw!
