It's pretty exciting to say I used MY OWN reference photo to paint this image!This was one of those photos I took that I knew was a bad photograph straight away. But sometimes bad photos make good paintings.
The painting started to come undone when I tried to do the water surface. The reference photo was no good for that part of the painting so I was trying to wing it, but I just couldn't get it to look good. After that I felt the painting as a whole wasn't working. I was tempted to fill the empty space to the right, but decided against it. Empty is OK.
Even though it hasn't come out how I imagined it would, the more I look at it now that it's complete, the more content I am with it
The title is lame.

Thank you! For the surface I ended up using a fur brush to get the basic shapes going, then painted over. Worked out well!
