How much would it take for you to make me a pair?

I can make a pair in a week, but at the moment I'm very busy with different projects and at the beginning of 2013 I will be living in Toronto for 5-6 months, so I propably won't be taking any commissions before next Summer :/

Nice work!
Have you done the shoes "by the book-historical" or are they reinforced to keep together longer?

In my experience medieval shoes doesn't last that long when used.

No modern material have been used when making those boots. The leather is sewn together with linen thread that's been waxed and pitched. I think they call it shoemaker's thread or something. The pattern I got from a Swedish shoemaking book [link]
In those days almost anyone could repair their own shoes and they didn't get so quickly rundown cause there was no hard pavement to walk on. Nowadays if you're using "authentic" leather shoes at a modern ren faire that's held for example in an urban area with asphalt and such, they're gonna get worn out a bit faster than if you stick to soft ground In medieval cities it was of course quite common to use wooden clogs under the shoes to lengthen their lifetime and keep feet from getting wet (according to my experience the shoes they had were rarely water-proof )

Well, there doesn't have to be modern materials to reinforce them My boots are made with a thick leather sole nailed (practically riveted) to the sewn sole, which protects the softer leather with steel nailheads. I also made a heel adding another layer of leather, because that part of the sole wears down very faster than the rest.
It is not entirely historical(as far as I know), but very practical.

Have to try something like that at some point. Always open to new techniques. I've been thinking of making a double-layered sole, but with welted wool in the middle. I think that would be really comfortable and I've understood that it's quite authentic as well

Hmmm... Never heard of it before, but it sounds like it should work.
For winter boots i've heard an inch or so of cork (?)(the material you make bottle corcs of) works very well for insulation. *adds on my to-do list*
