Description
Alby had successfully shown you all around the Glade, from the Deadheads to the Homestead. He'd briefly explained what each corner of the Glade was used for and had told you about the different jobs you would try around the Glade. Of course, plenty of guys had tried to talk to you and join you on the tour, but Alby had shooed them all away before you really had a chance to talk to anyone. Today really is all about the Glade.
The last place he'd decided to show you is near the Homestead, where a group of several boys are working. They're cutting wood, nailing things, drawing out designs, clearly building something.
"Last we have the Builders. They're tasked with building or expanding anything we need." Alby describes, gesturing quickly to the boys who are working hard. A few look up at you, but just chuckle at you or shake their heads and go back to work.
"What's with them?" You ask. Alby laughs quietly.
"Well, you did give their Keeper a little trouble this morning, making him chase you down like that," Alby hints. You can hear the Builders laugh next to you. Something clicks.
"So then, the Keeper of the Builders is..."
"Hey, Girlie," Gally says, approaching you, looking as cocky as he did when you last saw him. Still, you figure it's better he be smirking at you than glaring at you.
"Hey, Captain," You shoot back. He smirks again, like he's impressed.
"You learn fast," is all he says, crossing his arms coolly.
"Don't encourage him," Alby says. "He tried to get us all to call him that a while back. Didn't last a day because it sounds ridiculous," he says the last part directly at Gally.
"Not when she says it," Gally replies complacently, looking you in the eyes. You'd never tell anyone, but you kind of liked Gally. Something about his smug attitude or tough person was attracting you. Not to mention his looks. Sure, the eyebrows are shocking at first, but they suit him. He's well-built too, clearly benefiting from being a Builder for however long he's been in the Glade. Plus you'd felt how strong he is when he had you pinned earlier. He has all the attributes of a bad boy with the smirk to match, and you can't help but smirk back at him. Unfortunately, Alby seems to catch on.
"Alright, come on Greenie, we need to get you back to the Homestead and get your sleeping arrangements set up," Alby says, trying to pull you away from the Builders.
"Gally can help with that!" One of the Builders says, making all of them laugh except for Gally who ducks towards the culprit, smacking him upside the head. Luckily for Gally, you hadn't seen him blush.
As you walk towards the Homestead, Alby says something that makes you blush, but smile nonetheless.
"Listen, Greenie. You're the only girl here. You could probably have any guy in this place. I don't suggest going after that one,"
