Probably because the comics (somewhat) tie into Forces (and the game canon as a whole). Everyone would be like "It would be redundant"

Also part of the issue here is that people are comparing Archie to IDW because they want IDW to just copy Archie. How in the hell do you guys lobby for the freedom fighters to be in IDW but get upset when the comic takes its time to at least try to build its own identity and not just spoon feed you the nostalgia Sonic fans love so much. This is apples and oranges and I'm so tired of mouthbeathers doing this kind of comparison when the reality Archie Sonic isn't IDW Sonic....it's been stated over and over and over again that they aren't synonymous.Β

He was pointing out how IDW dragged it's Fucking feet to get to the point, taking Twelve Chapters to even get there, While Archie did it in Twelve pages.
From a Storywriter's viewpoint, IDW failed to write a proper Story. They just dragged their feet to show us pointless padding.
Cut out the padding, and what do you get? A very empty story.
And that shows how Bad it is. Even if it Wasn't to do with the Knothole freedom Fighters, the fact that it isn't spoken of kinda tells that the IDW comic is poorly written, which is a stark contrast to quite a few MLP comics made by the same Producers, such as the One where Spike was tracking down an Arsonist, and the One where Canterlot was under threat because of a misplaced Contract.
The fact that IDW Sonic is Basically being a Copy of the Already Terrible Sonic Forces, which was bland, dull and made Tails rather pathetic, and doesn't try to expand on the world of Sonic, really tells me a lot.
Archie was excellent with the Story, at least, before the Editor either bailed or was Fired, and Ken had, So to speak, 'Thrown a tantrum', which considering how Long he was there without throwing a fit, tells me that the blamers of Ken Penders either ignore a lot of Truth, or they are withholding the Truth.

damn uhh so what the freedom fighters actually are different here but they're not in IDW what? no BRUH IDW is not rehashing the same events again the only reason Archie was able to do it was because sonic games barely had no lore, to begin with so there allowed to escape with introducing their characters also they introduce Robotnik in the first page of issue 1 I mean hell issue 2 was already different with better are dialogue and story and events better yet issue 3 so its not really a repeat I agree with this being better then IDW id terms of well story and dialogue but please get ya facts straight I have two journals on this anyways for source material
