Description
Work for my sequential class. Each panel is painted in gouache. In hindsight, I'd change so much about what I did, but I'm still relatively pleased with the outcome.Related content

Epic man. I'm a huge fan of Lovecraft, and I think you depcited this story very well.

This is very nicely done. I like a lot architecture details and those color tones.

Noah,
I am quite aware of how popular the Cthulu genre is right now, though I am only vaguely familiar with the story itself.
I guess there are two ways of designing a storyboard these days. One, with an 'eye' on how the lens of a camera would see your story. The second one, is telling the story through the actions of the characters, in a 'comic' book style.
I feel your work is representative of the first method. While there are characters present, they don't seem to be the main "character". By that I mean, I feel your landscape (your stage) is actually the most important element. The humans, and the creature, are secondary. In this was your intent, you have succeeded!
I'd like to know more about what you think about what you did.
Jim

Thanks. I was definitely going for a more cinematic approach to this than a comic book one. Felt it was more up my alley that way.
This is the sort of thing that I'm relatively pleased with at the moment, but will probably loath in a few months. But that's just the way it goes.
