An old preliminary study of a creature portrait I had to complete traditionally – with Copic markers. The final result is coming soon
I'm sorry I couldn't do better back then, but I'm quite happy with being able to spot the mistakes today.

Errors or not, I really like this design! The head blades are really nice; your ability to draw monsters will always amaze me <3

Aaand thanks again I'd like to remake this water monster thing (it's two years old now) and perhaps paint a full body picture of her.

I just randomly decided it's a girl water monster thing c:

Some cast shadows are off, something in those head blades' perspective is off and the values just aren't working very good - they rely too much on the lineart, which wasn't going to be very visible in the final rendering with copics. It was going to end up looking more like a lineless painting, so I should have managed volumes accordingly.

Also, that armored cobra-hood-thingy is supposed to be a lot more rounded but, again, i haven't stressed the shading enough I'm sure that's more I can't remember, but I'm glad to hear it looks fine D:

Well the good news is that for the picture with the line art it looks fab! ;D
