I'm so going to redo this someday. I don't like those lines at all and I'm spotting a lot of perspective and anatomy horrors now :v
Anyway: flat colored turnaround for the creature's final design. I've been visualizing and sketching details inside the most interesting silhouettes of the bunch and worked by selection from there - probably going to upload other design ideas that came up from that process.Β
After some color and markings tests, this one was my favorite solution.
Any tips?

and i immediatly love the concept, wish some aliens in more recent movies looked like this, dunno the "gorilla-esque" factor of somehting that can grab you or pummel you to death has always been underrated in my opinion when it comes to action or terror films, is always with the cutting or stabbing and biting monsters XD

I love gorilla-esque bodies in fantasy creatures. They are so peculiar and powerful! But yeah, looks like reptiles and insects are more popular among the ranks of scary aliens. I guess they feel more alien to most people

So far I'm not noticing any particularly glaring errors in perspective/anatomy (though I notice on the left / right-facing that the farther upper horn tip is a bit off probs), but otherwise looks great~
