So I finally got around to uploading the animation I made over a year ago. 8D yay me!!![link]
This was made at Art Institute International during a 1-week camp. Pfffft. This year at MCAD in a week I made like... 45 seconds worth of animation. Colored in too. And better quality.
Thus, MCAD > AI.

Jeeeze! This was amazing! Your anatomy was PERRRFECT, and the flow was, like, EPIC. Wowww. I'm still watching it trying to figure out what your trick is. xDD
Oh! And this might be a stupid question (or you already may have answered it), but how many frames did it take to make this one? =o

It took just under 100 frames, with 15 frames per second.

No, I didn't have to draw the background each time. I just scanned the background in once and placed it on a layer under all the frames. Then I set all the frames on top to "multiply".
And wee! See-through background!

Well, patience is the first thing. You can't sit down one day and except to finish the day with a full length, or even a minute-long, movie. The 2 minute movie I made this summer took about a week and a half, but each of those days involved about 12 hours or animating. Let me tell you, that was INTENSE.
Which brings us to the next point: you need to love ianimating. No, really. LOVE it. Or else you'll either abandon your project halfway through or finish it up with really crappy animation. And this thing is your baby, so why would you do that?
Ok, for actually animating it, I can't really give you too many tips, because it's just something that you need to learn mostly on your own. But there are two things. One, know anatomy. Know. Your. Anatomy. You have no idea how important this is to be able to pull off convincing animation. Two, know the Twelve Principles of Animation. I learned them at camp this summer, and boy, did they help. I'm pretty sure someone put them up on the Internet, so just Google it.
And finally, have fun. =3 Animating is supposed to be FUN. And it gives you a sense of pride when you're done like you wouldn't believe.

another golden who has figured out that he likes my bed. moms fiance has nicknamed him "leapin lenny" cause whenever we go out we have to close all the windows or he will pop out the screen, (no matter how high,) and jump out. its happened several times now. oh yes, and i am now the cats favorite person cause i now shut my door, usually with him with me, in order to prevent my bed from turning gold from overactive puppy fur.

actully, it wasnt in the gutter, (but now that u mention it....) nah, i was just thinking along the lines of mass destruction and how much fun itd b 2 do a certain something 2 that b*&# that calls herself a manager. shes one of the lower managers and is trying 2 get me and jeremiah fired because we're dating and its "against company policy" (i checked by the way, as long as neither of us or both of us r managers we're fine.)

i have no idea but according to her the only reason we havent been fired 4 it is because ive been working there 4 over a year and he's been working twice that. i talked to the top manager about it and she laughed. after doing that she said, (still laughing by the way,) that she thought she could trust us not to do anything inapprpriate were the customers could see us and if we really wanted to do something to take it to the break rm. or the storage rm. honestly, right now, i think i could do just about anything and not get fired simply because i know so much and they're hiring so many new people who dont know crap. and ive also noticed the customers seem to be getting stupider....
