Description
Fil-Am Pride! The Baybayin Script on top reads, "Sino ako? Ano ang tayo ko sa mundo? Pilipino ba o Amerikano? Sino ako?" (Who am I? What is my place in the world? Am I Filipino or Am I American? Who am I?), questions answered in English text at the bottom of the image.
Created from scratch except for the U.S. coat of arms (The Great Seal of the U.S.A.). There was just too much tiny details to recreate, I couldn't be bothered.
NOTE: The U.S. Government does not frown on you for using The Great Seal on your artwork (public, private, commercial, and/or noncommercial) as long as you don't claim legal ownership to the seal itself, and/or it is not the only image, and/or as long as it is not displayed in such a way that it conveys or depicts an official government endorsement. The U.S. Government's current practice is not to provide an opinion as to the suitability of proposed uses. (Source: U.S. Government Website)
The eagles in profile are the Philippine Eagle and the American Eagle.
The Philippine Eagle (Pithecophaga jefferyi) is one of the rarest, largest and most powerful birds in the world. This bird of prey, or raptor, belongs to the family Accipitridae. It is also known as Haribon or Haring Ibon, meaning "Bird King." Upon discovery in 1896, it was first called the Monkey-eating Eagle, based on reports from natives that it preyed exclusively on monkeys (hence its generic name, from the Greek pithecus ("ape or monkey") and phagus ("eater (of)") . Later studies revealed, however, that they also prey on other animals such as colugo, civets, large snakes, monitor lizards, and even large birds like hornbills. This, and the fact that the same name applied to the African Crowned Hawk-eagle and the South American Harpy Eagle resulted in a presidential proclamation to change its name to Philippine Eagle. The Philippine Eagle is now known as the National Bird of the Philippines and this has helped increase awareness of the bird and its plight.
The American Eagle, the Bald Eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) is a bird of prey found in North America, most recognizable as the national bird and symbol of the United States of America.

This is really awesome work! I am also Fil-Am but consider myself an American first. Am proud of my Filipino roots and heritage but my heart is that of a God-fearing American Conservative Patriot. And, bravo on having the correct display of the US National Colors when it is displayed vertically like so. Blue is always on the left. Nicely done!

Thank you very much!
I modeled the Haribon from this illustration: [link]
...and the Bald Eagle from this site's photo: [link]
I think I made the eyes a little too small on both birds...

Thanks!
I hope it does inspire others. A lot of Fil-Ams I encounter either are uncomfortable of behaving or appearing overly "Pinoy" around Americans or they avoid behaving overly "Americanized" around other Filipinos. It's a shame that we should be uncomfortable under our own skin. I hope that everyone finds a balance between Filipino Pride and American Patriotism (hence the graphic).
