the hurt of losing some one you care about. not sure what to say i wanted to paint ice. also learned how to do eyes in a way that makes it more accurate. thank you youtube. hope you like it. rarity from my little pony friendship is magic.© my little pony belongs to hasbro

thank you i start with a cercal than 2 more one is the back wght of the eye the others will be the iris and pupile than paint over it on a different layer withe the same value as the pony so it blends then its just shading.

You've reached a level when even I'm not sure how you did this. I'm familiar with the technique, but what you did here is exceptional. And if you keep it up!
Oh and the detail on her mouth is absolutely astonishing.

i tried to do a pice with her coming out of ice but i could not make it work luckily i had an old sketch i did a wile back it looked nothing like this. the anatomy was way off and i had to change pretty much everything about it. i used a hard round brush to make a circle the size of her head then on lairs below it i added the neck and ears and above it the horn. i learned how to do the eyes of a youtube video [link]
to do the fur i just used a brisal brush with a low opacity around 11% and painted weight and black for contrast.
the ice just came natural.
i used a combination of a hard round brush and round chalk brush with a low opacity. wight were the light hits and were it refracted. black to add depth and transparency. the hole pice tock 4 days to do also i used photoshop of some color and lighting edits. also you can make a black layer set to color blinding to desaturate some of the colors and an overlay layer to add a little more contrast also make it should be below the colors so it dose not mess them up. hope this helps

i am trying to get something into best-of-mlp-fim so i have to try new things.
my pice was declined because it had too much detail they told me to go more abstract so my next pice will not have fur like this one. but i am making a video of it so people can see my process and if it helps some one it will be worth it.

Okay now I have an advice for you. You shouldn't listen to them regarding the too much detail thing. It is a new vision and as in the case of new or unusual things people are having difficult times to accept them. I've said it earlier but I say again: your pic is wonderful and unique. Your aim shouldn't be to get into that group, but to give somethin personal, new to the fandom. (I got serious negative critiques on my first pics that were unusual and now I get no or only one or two a month.)

thank you. i know its a little silly trying to get in a group so hard but just trying has increased my thinking and skill level. i try to think every thing out. i hope that one of my pieces will get in someday but the point isn't glory it just a goal i have set. and when i set a goal i try to achieve it. i will try to just make art for the joy of art. i was mad that when i opened my cave file half my layers had ben deleted so i will have to re paint my cave. i have no idea what happened. but i have a pice that i am working on so i am happy. thank you for the help.

i think the pice i am working on now will be amazing just playing around in artrage studio and applying some of the things i learned in intro to painting. i feel bad not posting any thing but i don't tell my art when its done. also i rely dislike quicktime and imoves. i am having fun with this pic i hope i can be done with it before friday.
and the cave will get done maybe next week.
