Description Much like Roy Mustangs array in FMA, this array can control fire in the air.
The way it works is it uses elements in the air and the air itself to shift reactive elements. These elements are Carbon, Nitrogen, and Oxygen (these are some of the most reactive gasses in the air. When flame is added, BOOM!!! That is, ifs they are clumped together. Otherwise, FOOSH!!!)
By gathering these elements and thrusting them throuth the array, you create a flame thrower. You can also make little explosions here and there by getting a bunch of reactive gasses in one place.
An essental element to this array is fire. You must have a flame of some sort to make the FOOSH happen.

Notshurly. Are there different kinds of Fire alchemy? Because all the ones I see are just using gases in the air to create an ignition and a boom. What about just basic fire? Imagine this. Have you ever seen Fairy Tale? Because the character Natsu, is a fire wizard. He can create, throw and shoot fire. Basically, he can just create and hold a fire in his hands. Rather, this (unless clarified) transmutation circle, much like Roy's, just seems to be able to create a spark, move gases to be ignited, and explode. But is it possible to truly control fire? Creating sustainable flames when ever and where ever and even manipulating them? Even if it is, can you do it with this Transmutation Circle?

I like your thinking. In theory, yes, it could be possible, but hard. Fire is energised matter, but it burns up quick. It's keeping that energy that would be hard. But it's possible. This new view on fire is inspirational. I'll have to see what I can come up with.

I wonder if there's a way to tweak this array so that it applies heat onto the manipulated gasses until they ignite...

Flame alchemy using only arrays and not external sources of ignition (pyrotex gloves, lighter, etc.) are my main goal.

Yes. This doesn't even need flame gloves. It can use the natural energy produce in your body to create a small ignition spark.

Can this also perform basic transmutations as well?

No. Nothing beyond making fire.

Hmm... cause it's said that Kimblee can use JUST the hexagrams and not the celestial symbols in his arrays to perform basic transmutations. I was wondering if the hexagram in this array can do just that, too.

I don't remember word for word, but they called for gathering the air, allowing for greater control, and strong combustion

well Your Method Is A like A flamethrower version of Mustangs version.but Mustang ignites it with Highly Flammable gloves (or something like that) so when He snaps it makes a spark Which He uses To ignite it.Though How he mannages to ge The spark To his target i don't Know.Mabye type of transmutation?

They explained it in the 2003 anime, I believe. His gloves are made of a special cloth that creates a spark when he snaps his fingers (like flint and steel). The circle changes the oxygen and nitrogen content in the air to drastically increase flammability, which the spark from the glove ignites. As for the distance, think of it like one long shape, a sphere (where the explosion is) and a trail heading back to his glove from it. The ignited air travels up the path and to the sphere of flammable air, where it all ignites and explodes.

he creates static with his glove by clicking, its what sparks it much like a lighter. If you apply the same rule with this arry it should work the same.

The spark ignite the air and he creates a fuse with the air, transmuting it to do so. I think....

Nevermind HE transmutes spark Using The same Transmutation circle on his glove That He uses To Transmute The air Into Ignitable And highly explosiveable Gases. He snap and activates The transmutation circle Transmuting The air Less Then a Mila Second before he ignites it.At least That What I think it Is.

I understand that, Its not a critique but an observation. I am beginning to study alchemy so some of it I understand while some of it makes my head hurt XD.

"...all to the alchemist w.....tame. Air is under control.... so shall be the element..... fire be unleashed...lame is the air and water.... e winy[?], control shall...."

Tried translating it
Is this right? Well, it's not complete since some are under the triangles.
It's awesome btw! It would be even awesome if they were really written in greek/ latin words.

Where did you learn about alchemy? You seem so knowledgeable about it.

Notshurly In reply to CrimsonFlameAlchemy [2010-08-19 11:24:57 +0000 UTC]

It would be. I am getting some scripts and cyphers so I can step up the arrays.

And I believe you were close. Of course some of the words where chopped (sadly), but thats why I am getting that new cypher. MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

I picked it up over the years. It was mostly just logic that helped me understand it. It was also mentioned in the Books of Knowledge series, so thats what kicked me into it.

Oh, I forgot the middle part
"Fuel is the broken air. Let flame extent beyond the circle."

Right?
It's just so awesome how you make those circles. Just keep making more! I have learned so much from your works.

One last thing about the spell/ incantation. Did you get that from somewhere or did you just make that up?

I made it up, but in order to create the instructions, I had to be very specific, but still be space efficient. The best way to do that is make it sound all mystical and what not.
