Description
Tis a universal transmutation circle. Now when I say universal, I mean like when in FMA, Ed claps his hands and BAM!!! Transmutation! Not stuff like human transmutations or anything else. Also, I understand this resembles the array the Elrics used to transmute their mother. I can assure you I didn't take that design. I drew this as an example in science class to demonstrate alchemy mixed with nuclear science. It was when I posted it, somebody mentioned it looked like the Elrics array. Yes it does, but its not.

Are the words - I'm guessing this is in Greek - important to the function of this array, or any array for that matter?

Well i kinda trusted you there ...
until i read that part about how you "hope that bitch is going to hell" ...
That is pretty mean deceiving us like that or is that reaaaallly a necessary part of the array ?

Yup! They give instructions to the reaction. This would make it easy for people who don't understand every piece of the array to use it with relative ease.

So, it works kinda like Al's alchemy gloves did in CoS? (Minus the soul-splicing bit, of course.)
Actually, it would explain how he was able to seemingly transmute just about anything (a watering hole, a tornado, even the weird flying-brick move) with the same circle.
Actually, if you have the time, could you do an analysis of the array on movie!Al's gloves? I'm still trying to figure out what they mean...

Would it be ok if I used this in my game? I'll give proper credit.

Heya! I'm writing/drawing a fullmetal alchemist comic, and I'd like to use your transmutation circle in the cover (it's depicting Alphonse using Edward's old automail arm to reconstruct Winry's ear piercings... so it's basically deconstruct & reconstruct in the same material, so your circle will work unless you have some other material..)
If you agree to this, I will mention and link your circle in the deviation comment and also on the next page (which would be the first page inside the paper version, which has the disclaimers and stuff...)
Just check out my gallery to get an idea for what it will be used, the first 2 covers are done and this would be for the 3rd chapters' cover.
It would be great if I could use it!
Just saw your gallery, oh man, you're so into this transmutation thing, that's great Also, lightsabers, hmmm. My boyfriend makes them as well

okay I haven't found the time to finish a transmutation circle myself, so I'm really glad you are giving me permission!
Thanks for letting me know! I will mention you in the deviation, so you'll get the link on dA automatically.
Thanks a lot!

So this alchemical array can make walls out of the available materials like from the ground? But also make weapons like a sword?

If you knew how to assist the array in doing so, then yes you could.

By universal, do you mean that this circle is capable of any (except human) form of transmutations?

Just simple things, like morphing stone and such. I don't believe it could do much more than that. Maybe make some bread or gold. maybe.

ive noticed on tht show thy kan transmute without an array but when it comes to human transmutation they need it y?

Because it is an incredibly complex transmutation. Imagine alchemy like building stuff. The transmutations they do without circles are like making a small box or something simple. They don't have many tools needed or have all that much work. Now a human transmutation is like building a house. You need instructions and proper steps to set up everything correctly.
So shifting the shape of the soil and building the entire system of human are two completely different things. So it's all in the level of a transmutation.

im new to the study of alchemy, and i was curious. does this transmutation circle control elements? i knowthere are crcles used for this. but i was wondering if this one would work te same way.

No, this just does simple transmutations like that of a FMA array that Ed or Al would use. It reconstructs matter.

You know what I just thought of? You should TOTALLY write a book on how to make and understand transmutation circles. Just like, a complete book on the under appreciated aspects of alchemy, not the practical or spiritual (even though those should be in there too~) but the artistic! Not the weird symbolic stuff with the dragon and sun, no, TRANSMUTATION CIRCLZ!!!! I know I would buy it!
(seriously, I can't find ANYTHING on the subject! D: )

I already am. The Black Book of Alchemy. I am currently working on it and might be for some time, but as soon as I finish it, I will publish it ASAP. I dont know for sure, but if I have extra copies, I will send you one, no charge. It just depends if I have extras...

OMG THAT IS AMAZING!!!! I <3 CHUUUUU!!!!!
BTW, You should TOTALLY make a transmutation circle that you draw on your hands that makes your aim 100% accurate.

I dont know about that, but a transmutation circle that lets you create and control a small ball of energy that you can use to kill people at high speeds, maybe. It would be like the force, but if you have ecer seen Zombie Loan, more like the guy who can control the knife. Or in Hellsing, Rip Van Winkles rifle...

Lets see... How can I put this verbaly....
The three symbols you see are what appear to be gold(soul), silver (mind), and earth (body). What they repressent are Protons, nuetrons, and electrons. The scripting tells us not only what we are transmuting, but how much and what the base elements are. The cricle reads all that, then uses basic nuclear science and alchemy to do your bidding.
Now when I say its a universal transmutation circle, I dont mean its used for anything (like human transmutation), but used for project alchemy, as I like to call it. This is what Ed and Al can perform. They clap their hands and can transmute objects into new shapes or compositions. The cant do stuff like a human transmutation or something like that (I cant think of another example, sorry).
And yes, it does look alot like the human transmutation circle. I noticed that when I was finished and thought somebody would as well. Its not meant to replicate that circle, they just work in similar forms (also hard to explain without diagrams).
Lastly, I thank you. Its been a long time since anyone has asked how my arrays and transmutation circle work. I thank you and feel free to ask about others as well.
And as a side note, I will need to work on some diagrams...... As soon as I get some done, I will upload them. Until then I have some alchemy instruction deviations you can look at (sadly, the dont explain enough how the arrays and transmutation circles work. In other words, diagrams.)

Universal how? Ive been researching alchemy and came across some of the FMA circles. Hearing most of them were based off of the concept bbut had no use. This looks like the human transmutation circle but i see youve added silver and gold (if im right) to the three main circles.
I was wondering how this one would work.
Thanks,
