I really like these movie interpretations of the musical scenes. Yours is no exception.

That could be possible...because Simba was hanging onto a tree branch as a cub, right?

I'd been looking for this sort of imagery for AGES (like amost seven years); since seeing the Broadway show in Sydney (yup; I'm an Aussie), during 2005! Basically, because it showed Simba still having flashbacks, a he grew up...
The idea of the lion leaping easily over a stream -- then daring his meerkat foster-dad to do the same -- with almost disastrous results, was the perfect vehicle; to show audiences that the rightful king was still struggling, to come to terms with his dad's death.
They didn't have that on the movie -- or even on "Bambi" (after he lost his mother to hunters... It just makes the characters more real, doing that type of stuff: Having the hero struggling with his demons and/or ghosts -- before overcoming his setbacks. It's ideas and themes like these, that add to the realism.
Thanks again

Great picture! I'm dying to see the musical. I've heard this is a pretty powerful scene and I really wish there were pictures of it on the internet.

Simba: you could've died, you could've died!
Timon: stop with the dying part already!

Aw So sad. Great depiction of emotion though here without directly expressing it in the face!

Oh this makes me happy. Good to see fanart of this scene where it focuses on everyone's distress in the scene (usually see it of just one of the characters in the scene, usually either Timon or Simba), and it was a great idea to put the image of Mufasa behind Timon. It makes it clear what Simba was remembering.
