Description
I wanted to do some practicing and test what kind of style variations I have. I could come up with 7 variations for the time being, but there are likely more than these. I may draw few more and post another set or update this one.
I call the first two "default" styles, because they are most natural for me to draw. In fact, I didn't really aim for these two default styles, but I like to draw them the most. These styles have just emerged after a lot of practicing. It's quite funny actually, because I don't really use them much at all. If I'm gonna draw a real manga, I believe I would go with the default style.
The next two, "usual" and "sensual" styles are what I generally want to draw. These have a lot more attention to detailing and refining. Compared to the "default" styles, these require a lot more conscious efforts to get them look good.
The "angular" and "cute" styles were sort of extremes of line handling. I found that the "angular" style fits my working methods quite well. It's also quite close to the "default" style. The "cute" style, on the other hand, doesn't seem to fit me. If I want cuteness, I prefer going with the "true default".
With the seventh variation, I wanted to try more realistic take. I hardly ever draw this kind of style, but I really like it. I like how calm the drawing turned out.
Update:
Eight variant, "slender" style, is quite a different from the rest. Since I usually draw my lines quite bold, I tried drawing the lines very thin for a change. I also drew the character in shojo-like style. It turned out to be so different from the rest that I can almost consider it as an independent style rather than variation.
Number β¨Β is obviously the strongest style, so I drew "guy" style. This is purely for gags, and not very widely used independently. I however find it really fun and I hope I get to use it more in some manga. It's rather hard style because it takes a lot of understanding about the muscle anatomy, which I haven't studied enough. I just added some detailing and hope that it will fool the critical eye
"Serious" style is a bit less extreme version of the "guy" style. I like to draw beautiful girls and then draw them with their eyes full of contempt and oppression. I mostly use it in extreme close view so that the extra detailing of the make up will be visible. This style is also a bit similar to "sensual" style, though this aims to exaggerate the "ugly" side of girls, rather than erotic.
A friend of mine requested "loli" style, so I tried doing it. I'm not sure whether it's really a variant, or just younger version of the character. The body proportions aren't only smaller, but the anatomy is also more childish. She isn't chibi, although the head might be a bit too large.
Then there are the chibis. The two versions I drew are quite different if compared, but I still lumped them together. The smaller version is frequently seen in tutorials.
I probably could have come up more than these, but I'm not sure if I could have drawn more purely unique variants. The few I tried were obvious sub-variants of these. The position of the "serious" and "loli" variants are a bit unclear to me too.
Artists in training: you don't really need to put conscious efforts in devising your style. Your style will emerge when you gain more experience and get familiar with the techniques. Just keep drawing in various styles and mixing them together. Some day you will notice that you have your very own "default" style.

If you really want to learn drawing, and I mean drawing well, you will need to spend extended time on it. If you draw once a week, you won't learn anything, because you will basically forget everything. If you draw a lot for a week and then rest few days, you will get rusty.
If you don't have much time to spend, then I suggest that you draw a little before going to bed and right after you wake up, preferably everyday. You see, all things you have learned are organized when you sleep. You're most likely to remember things you learn before going to bed, and when you do the same thing when you wake up, the memory will hold stronger.
I have learned that gaming is a big motivation killer when it comes to drawing. It also makes it harder to concentrate on drawing. :/ And I myself don't like drawing if I have to do it, be it school or commission. That kills my motivation, although I do agree that it forces you to do something.
Copying is actually pretty beneficial way of learning to draw, at least for me. In fact, even today I just want to replicate japanese manga. I kept adopting features from my favorite mangas and animes and after a while I mixed them together with other features, or forgot how to draw something and relearned doing things differently. I think it was beneficial because copying gave me an idea what to aim for, and later applying what I had learned helped me to draw right from my imagination.

Interesting method, I was basically told that if u have a certain style, just go with it. Mine seems to be similar to #5, but more often I want to push for more detail. But it does make sense to go beyond it, which would increase your chances of getting noticed by any kind of media studio.

I find that being versatile is beneficial. Sticking only on one style, especially early on, might suffocate one's artistic potential. There is no guarantee that the chosen style is what one really wants to draw. Flexibility here allows more room for improvements. I, for one, don't hesitate to change myself if I find it beneficial for me.

I love the variation of your style and techniques. Just goes to show how versatile your methods are.
And Sachiko (this is Sachiko, right?) looks great! This is a definite reminder that you don't have to be stick-thin to make a skirt look good!Β Β

Thanks. I just haven't limited myself to draw just "my style" so to say .Β
This is just a random character I came up for the test. And yeah, little plump won't do any harm!

Amazing! I am not going to lie, I read a lot of Hentai manga, and I love the 4th one! (judge me if you will), I really need to know where you learned how to do this. especially how to draw the exaggerated body proportions.

Thanks! Well, I have been drawing for years and I've been absorbing many features from various mangas along the way, so it's not a surprise that I've also learned something . Hentai is one great source of reference. What comes to the exaggerated body proportions, I've been drawing hentai practices in which is play a lot with the proportions in order to find the limits. Then I've been trying to settle just below those limits

Hey I have a Q
If you have hentai sketches can you post it?
2: when you draw do you do the basic body always?

incredible, in knew there are many more out there. But most of my drawings end up looking more like a combination of your Angular and default style(but with less details). Kind of appering like the pokemon cartoons.LOL. Wish I could do more out of my range. I know for sure if I try I could. But for me details kils me. Since I am a Impatient man.

I've accumulated sort of a "catalog of drawings" in my head and I'm just recalling and compiling them as I draw new drawings
