The LineBreaker-Class Destroyer - named for one of the positions in a popular Hauyht terrestrial team sport - is the second addition by the Juniper Star System's government to the Outer Systems Federal State Navy. Based on the previous GateKeeper-Class Light Carrier, the designers removed the small craft launch capacity in favor of additional direct firepower in the form of several bunker'ed energy weapon batteries. When not in use the weapons themselves are concealed under half-squared circular hatches that swing up to expose the barrels. The upside is that they are considerably harder to knock out with the obvious downside of a more-limited firing arc and additional time to bring into action - especially compared to the far superior TYCS/SDF WALNUT batteries (which are also far more expensive - you get what you pay for!). The design also clusters most of the firepower in the forward 245°/280° arc, lending towards aggressive action and a particular vulnerability to encirclement. Both output and armor are moderate with the OSFSN expecting to off-set this by commissioning large numbers of these vessels.
