I went back and looked at my Parial Species chart the other day. And I realized there was a race that I was selling short. One I had never developed as I should have. Which is silly, because they are important.

Truth to own, I hadn't touched their design since high school. And that was so long ago that I'm not going to admit to a number.

They deserved better from me.

This is Dythees Na. Or, as he's known in The Empire, Trader Salt.

One of the things I really wanted to fix was the clothing. I hated it and I never had anything really good for them, so I made up some crap and stuck them in it. This time I really wanted to give them something appropriate.

I went back and thought about what they sound like. Because of their respiratory system, their voice echoes up out of their chest to produce very loud deep tones that kind of sounds like low-register Tibetan chant. So I went and looked at traditional Tibetan clothes. This is what I got.

This is pretty normal (if a little formal) wear for both male and female Dythinians. It's impossible for other species to tell male and female apart., so they don't dress any differently. What would be the point?

Cultural note: Because of the lack of gender distinction, they will often find a way to drop a hint about it very early in a first conversation. Failing that, it's okay to ask. They don't mind. Just don't default to gender neutrals. They tend to think of it as rude.
