I strongly believe there must have been SOME trade between the peoples of north america and lower mexico....look at the art and mounds of the Hopewell culture I think they must have crossed the gulf of mexico and visited the ancient city-sites of the olmecs.

I agree poision dart frogs were probably only for hunting....I'm sure one stupid guy probably tried eating one but nobody did after

As for the drink....it is commonly thought that the mayans used the venom of bufo alvarius {containing 5-meo-dmt} in some way to produce psychedelic vision states, vision states the some think lead to the creation of the calendar.
Problem is that the bufo alvarius is a toad common only to North America....so either they got the specific toad from a complex trade route or it was another kind of toad.
Most toads contain a different hallucinogenic compuond called Bufotenin{related to psilocin} which is also found in high content in bufo alvarius{also found in the urine of schizofrenic people funny enough}
There are some records of mayan/aztecs using toads{unspecified type} in a fermented drink with added toad venom.

But dont lick or drink toads! seriously all you'll get is sick...possibly deathly poisened. The Mayan culture is extremely interesting....extreme in the way that they would commonly bleed themselves from their tongues and genitals to produce vision states. We have easier ways than that thankfully nowadays

I have heard that 5-meo- dmt has a very hard body load...


From my experimentation with dmt... i found it very harsh (smoking) and i was somewhat frightened before the sets so i didnt really get the full full effect of this extremely powerful drug. I had extracted a few grams of this stuff, prolly 90+ purity at least... and i was smoking it like weed at one point. Toke before night, toke when i wake up... ya know.. toke.. haha One time i was sitting in my room and i hit the bulb a few times ( i was vaporizing it in a light bulb... one of the reasons why i dont touch this stuff... it made me feel like a crack head) and I heard this crackling sound... i thought my brain just crackled but it was me putting the lightbulb on a wet towel... scared the living shit out of me....


I have had a very frightening experience on a combination of mushrooms/lsd ( ofcourse weed and ganja food were involved too but thats minor ) So after that experience I have been cautious about doing heavy doses of anykind of psychedelic as I experienced death head first and it was truely frightening but I'd never give that experience up for the world. I try to remember most of it but it is tough. Liquid lsd and mushrooms are a very powerful combo... I think all kids should try this at home.
