➢ GeographyThe vast majority of the Iadlain region is covered by Wispwood, a dense, highly magical and largely unexplored forest. All areas of the wood within Iadlish territory are extremely dangerous and filled with vicious creatures, plants and magic phenomena alike, making established towns the only habitable areas within it. It only thins towards the coast and to the very south, where Iadlain meets Estraude.

To the west are the Reign Mountains, whose lesser peaks spread over much of the Iadlain region as well, rendering the terrain uneven, full of ravines and carved by many rivers. To the east, the coast is comprised mostly of sheer cliffs that border the Borealis Ocean.

The River Ailithre is the largest waterway, starting high up in the mountains and running swiftly over steep land. In many areas, it cascades into waterfalls. The second largest is the River Suain, a slower, wider river that gives rise to lakes, swamps and marshland as it travels east.
➢ TownsIadlain - The capital of the region, and its largest and oldest town. It is located upon a network of streams fed by the River Ailithre.

Corrdubh - The northernmost town of the Iadlain region. It holds a particularly high population of ex-Relans and is known for the strength of its battle mages, thanks to its location in a particularly deadly part of Wispwood.

Uirigh - A coastal town and key link in naval trading with Reluir. Currently annexed by Reluir.

Balla - A mountain town located at a very high altitude. It is known for its scrying magic and towers, and is an important communications relay to the Koben Empire. Currently annexed by Reluir.

Lochliath - The second largest town of the Iadlain region. It is located in a valley, next to and upon a large lake.

Teire - An important trade town, located at the intersection of several major roads.

Glanaill - A coastal town and major producer of salt, which is used across Iadlain to fortify roads and towns against forest monsters.

Carrain - A coastal town located on particularly rocky cliffs and responsible for a line of lighthouses down the coast.

Tuama - A mountain town known for its mining, smithing and masonry.

Ealamhrán - A forest town and major producer of camallach, the moss which fuels the Empire's airships.

Selíoda - A forest town known for its silk and spider farming.

Rúchadh - A mountainside town half-carved into the rock and infamous for its high rate of suicides.

Toll - A seaside town located at the mouth of a river. It acts as an important link between sea and land trade.

Dirge - The southernmost town of the Iadlain region, located near the Iadlish-Estran border. Due to this location, it has a relatively high wood elf population and very few dark elves. It is known for being haunted by singing spirit creatures.

➢ RoadsAn Bóthar Bán - Also known as The White Road in Common, this is the longest and safest road in the Iadlain region. It runs the entire length of the Iadlish coast, from the Estran to Relan border, and avoids all deep areas of Wispwood, making it a good route for anyone to travel long-distance over the region. Its name comes from the white saltstone it is paved with, which helps deter monsters from it.

An Bóthar Rua - Also known as The Red Road or Rust Road in Common, this is the main road connecting Iadlain capital to Reluir. It is one of the most well-used land routes in the Iadlain region, frequented by the Iadlish and Relans alike for trade and travel between the two territories. Its name is an allusion to the numerous iron charms that protect it from the forest, the robust ore trade along it and, for the Iadlish at least, the historical blood spilt between Iadlain and Reluir.

Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of the features, towns and roads in the Iadlain region! Many more exist but these are some of the major ones. :>

Is it possible to make an old family Iadlain? I want to apply and I have an App for a Dark-Elf With Political standing. is this possible? It is not game changing (I don't think) but is it OK to do? If it is what are some of the limitations and criteria for the Application for Nobility? (I have read the "how to be a noble" section of filling out an aplication and still feel a little confused beyond acking for permission.

Hi there! To make a noble character, you must contact the relevant mod, yes, and from there their position can be discussed and either approved or declined. Every region has its own political system and culture, so it's important to coordinate this with the region mod. In your case, I'm afraid it is really too late to go through Iadlain's 'nobility' with you before this opening ends - if you are still interested in applying with a character with this kind of background, please do contact me well before the next opening so we have time to work on it!

WELL IN GENERAL there aren't wood elves in Iadlain, so it's probably a more accurate overall impression to imagine there aren't! But if we're getting real technical then yes, there is a single small town in the extreme isolated south of Iadlain that is weird and infected with some wood elves ahaha - they're still not particularly welcome or well-regarded, but the location makes it hard to really keep them out. There aren't any wood elves living in the Iadlain region beyond Dirge, and any with noticeable light elf blood are still a nope! Iadlain has Actual Laws against light elves, wow

Hehehe I'm glad you like!! //makes enticing fingers at u, u know this side of the continent is gr8--

That's the hope!! There's no guarantee since it'll depend on the region mods and their lives to make these, but here's Iadlain's for now, at least! o v o)9
