Description
A response to all the somebodies who've asked for a coloring tutorial. My last Process guide is no longer the method I use, so I thought I'd make a new one.Hopefully that wasn't super confusing *-*
The main software is Paint Tool SAI. Total time was about 2.5 hours.

digital art is so difficult, the translation is so rough its like learning art all over again

I would say the exact opposite. Digital art is becoming easier every day.
If you use the right tools you will not have a problem.
There are traditional looking programmes. They might be better for you.
A graphics tablet is recommended on all cases, though.
I can help, if you want.

It is all a matter of ability to translate ones self through the medium, penicil paper pens are what I am used to. Its like speaking English, digital art is like trying to learn Russian. I have a graphics tablet, but it doesnt feel the same, its like there is just a hint of delay. If you know a specific type of tablet that might be good that you could advise me that would be helpful.

Hmmm... if using a computer, Cintiq would be the closest thing possible to drawing on paper, but is very expensive. A lot of people have problems with their tablet though. I suggest you to practice using it. I still make mistakes sometimes but overall it feels quite natural.
Your problem might be also with the software. I highly recommend ArtRage. It is meant to look and behave like real paints or pencil. They just released a new version, 4.

What tablet do you use?

I do not use a tablet at the moment, it was not a very expensive one but my nephew gouged a deep groove in it, essentially ruining it. I do not think it is the soft ware, i found it pretty good actually to suite my supposed style of ar which is rather simple. So first I have to replace my tablet, which hopefully will be done in a week.

I see. What tablet are you planning to replace and programme do you use?
Sorry, just curious.

I use a Wacom Cintiq myself but you can do the same thing on almost any tablet. Wacom is the biggest and probably the most dependable brand for tablets, but I've heard good things about Yiynova lately. Non-Wacom brands will generally be way cheaper; you'll have to research to check the quality *-*

Cool! Nice angle btw At the moment the lineart seems very uniform and black all throughout. Maybe try swiping over it with base colors in certain areas to make it thinner/lighter. I also like having my lines be a color other than black, often just a darker version of the surrounding color. They don't all have to be the same color either, so play around?

Very interesting thanks ^^ Do you actually lower the opacity on the lineart layer at the end or just paint over the lines to blend them with the rest? I don't seem to find a decent compromise for my lineart, it always stands out so much it hurts ><
Love the way you use colors btw, makes so happy whenever I look at you art XD

I do often lower the opacity of the lineart layer before merging it with the base colors. Maybe try making the lines a color other than black as well. Dark brown/red/purple works well for me.

You can always download an English pack from [link] that automatically translates all the menus. The license is digital.
