Haha, thank you. I'm actually pretty surprised by how popular this has proved to be, given how, uh, comparatively little time I spent on it

What a badass gun design! Can't believe you done it with photoshop lol, any game developers like the one who make Doom 3 should hire you as their weapon concept artist!

This is very good design well done. It almost makes me want to purchase a revolver....almost. Point is that i find revolvers fun to shoot but i feel they are obsolete compared to semi automatic. but again very well design. I cant believe this my first time seeing one of your pieces. now i have to see the rest.

Very nice. Reminds me of the Mateba Autorevolver, especially the upward-swinging cylinder.

The Model 6 Unica has a downward-swinging cylinder, as does the M2004.

Engineering-wise, it seems like an wonder-machine. But the actual product seems to have been plagued with technical flaws, mechanical complexity being chief among them.

We could always stick to picture perfection. Btw, something caught my eye recently. Check out this knuckleduster pistol grip.

The grip is impractical?

Nyandgate In reply to wildabeast73 [2015-05-21 02:07:16 +0000 UTC]
I mean, yeah? The greatest offense is that it locks up your fingers. There's a reason firearm grips aren't excessively ergonomic, and that's because some degree of finger dexterity is desirous in a weapon grip.
Besides, you want different users with vastly different hand geometries (imagine slender Asian policemen using the same weapon as broad-shouldered well-built American soldiers, and you see the point).Β
Also imagine punching someone with that thing. The barrel would hit first. And in any case, a firearm made of solid steel is already a good enough bludgeon by itself; adding a few extra ounces of (relatively) thin metal on the grip won't appreciably improve the weapon's performance as a last-ditch melee weapon. I have zero firearms training, but were I to be confronted in close-quarters by a fast-moving opponent with no ammo remaining, I'd probably flip the grip around and try to pistol-whip the guy rather than use it as a knuckleduster.
...but again, coolness trumps boring utilitarianism, so

... I had an idea. You know the cylinders for those revolvers in Destiny? Some of the revolvers in destiny seem to have a barrel pointing out from the middle of the cylinder, not the top or bottom.
What if the cylinders are actually spring loaded with caseless bullets that come out the middle? Might explain how they can fit more than six rounds.
