Ten minutes of SketchUp to make a rough spatial reference picture, then Photoshop using a Wacom tablet for input.

I have been waiting for someone to bring back something along the lines of the Unica Auto-revolver; this gets the "6:00-position" style perfectly!
I just have to say, I definitely want this gun.

Good job! you should have added a threaded barrel (for mounting a silencer - yes, I know this is an unusual option for a revolver, but there are precedents!) and a set of tactical rails - for mounting of optics and accessories on the gun . otherwise, it is a very good design for a military sidearm.

If a revolver does not gas seal at the forcing cone, a la Nagant, a silencer is futile.

This design looks amazing. One minor concern; the point where the bullet is fired is awfully close to the user's trigger finger. Wouldn't overheating be a problem?

xClu5ter In reply to Dragmackle [2013-03-08 16:29:38 +0000 UTC]
Chiappa Rhino 50DS uses the same system. Firing the bullet from the low chamber significantly reduces recoil and adds to the controlability of the weapon.

yup.Β You can see them used in the 2012 version of Total Recall.Β All the cops carry them.

Nyandgate In reply to Dragmackle [2013-03-06 06:24:28 +0000 UTC]
That part is lifted directly off of existing revolver designs, so I'm sure that wouldn't be a problem.

Very nice! And I don't care for revolvers. Is that over-top cylinder swing-out your concept? If so, may I apply it to a clone of a Mateba for a KP fic?

Nope. That sort of concept work is far beyond my level. This is more in the school of Ghost in the Shell.
