Description Well, after my YumYum drawing, I figured I might as well figure out how to draw Tack. I love him the most out of the characters in The Thief in the Cobbler. His design is simply... daunting. My safety zone is androgynous. Second place is women. I suck at mean usually. So, that would men Tack should be in my zone, right? No! He is more caricatured than YumYum. At least I can get her proportions by sticking to the usual equation for height and such. Tack... is hard. Well, for me he is. 'Shame the movie wasn't popular enough to have character reference sheets. Wah. Oh, well.
In some aspects he was easier to deal with than YumYum... none of those beads! It was the patches and the additional lines for stitches that were annoying to keep up with and color correctly. I have learned much though. Based on screencaps I took for reference not even the animators could keep up with what gray-brown went where. One day I might take up the endeavor and try to make reference sheets for him... Meh... that'll be a while.
Well... as for the design! I did a slightly similar concept to my recent YumYum one with the full figure and the profile... only I added in a third profile since there would be no lyrics in this one. Sorry, but "Am I Feeling Love?" really was forgettable and I cannot even remember what the heck the tune was. Bleh.
The full figure was to get an idea to how Tack's form is... I learned his shoulders tend to rest at ear level. So yes, when you draw him, you place the lower half of his head below the shoulder line to get the hunched over appearance. I learned a few other tricks about his form, but that is too much to add here.
The profiles were to show him with shay and bashful, obviously. The lower left turned out great. Sure, they don't do blushes like that in the movie, but oh, well. The top right one does one of those. Admittedly he looked better when colored regularly, but I felt one of his "blush pics" should follow the movie. So, yes... his entire face is red there. Also, that is an expression Tack has made! I'm not kidding! The only difference is the lack of blush and the slight eyelids!
Why the eyelids? To show his eyes are lidded rather than possibly squinting or such. "Dreamy-eyed" doesn't exactly fit him well, though. He looks odd. Oh, well.
Ah, yes... the background. Yes, it is night time. Playing on my YumYum picture, I decided Tack should have a night background. Yes, YumYum's wasn't a completely day background and all that stuff... well, that was illustrating the song. This... this is just to give semblance to how Tack is quiet, gentle, stays in the shade (inside his workshop) and well... like the night while YumYum is like the sun, dammit! In addition, in drawing and coloring him... Tack definitely has a moon-like face.

Tack is from the Thief and the Cobbler and belongs to Richard Williams, Allied Filmakers, Majestic Films, Miramax Family Films...

Art belongs to me.

Anything else come to mind?
No.
Okay then!
