Description Art block.
Lack of vision.
Frustration.
Depression.
Artistic doubt.

My pencil tip rests on a black piece of paper.
Whenever I'm ready to draw, I get art block.
When I try to force myself to draw, what I see on paper doesn't match what I saw in my head.
When I try and fail, I start to get frustrated.
When I find my hands clenched to my paper in a death grip, I start to feel depressed.
When I get depressed, I doubt if I'm an artist at all.

.. I can't create.
I'm not good enough.
Its the same thing over and over again.
Can't be as good as the next artist.
Why bother trying...

My pencil is broken.
I can no longer use it.
I see myself in it.
I feel like I'm in pieces...

My friend offers me his.
[b]"You are a one of a kind artist.
Never doubt yourself.
Draw what comes out, even if it's just a line or scribble.
Even a scribble can be a unique work of art.
Draw with confidence.
Never give up."

I drew a scribble.
I see something in that scribble.
I add more.
I start to feel confident.

What once was a blank page is now a work of art.

Look, I'm an amateur artist who cannot pay classes, because I support my family with a wage of 200USD/month. That's why most of the time I feel horrible about my drawings. But then I look at artworks like this one, and something inside me says "keep going. You're doing just fine." And that's what I do.
I like the style, because I like non-colored drawings. Appreciate the little good things of life. Becuase you don't know when the life can turn out things good. Also it's a cute sketch. I simply like it. I'm not going to give up, because maybe someday, I can do something like this. Just maybe.
Great job. And thanks for showing this to the world.

A Funny Story:

I have had similar feelings before. The problem was only compounded by my art professor praising some of my worst and shoddy done work with great comments and using it as an example to the class and then ‘having nothing to say.’ About a piece I spent over eighteen hours working on.

A bit disheartened, my engineer friend pulled me aside to tell me about one of his friends from high school. His friend, like me, was very detail oriented and meticulous in their style and like me the teacher kept shooting down his work. At the end of the semester there was a final project worth 40% of the overall grade, convinced he was going to fail the class he decided to get crazy drunk and have at his canvas.

The result as he described it was…horrifyingly beautiful, if you were squinted in bad light it kind of looked like a pig lizard trying to eat a school bus. Or so he said.

Not caring what grade he got hung it up along with the other paintings, the professor was awe struck and demanded to know who made the piece. When he confessed that he was the artist, the professor laid on him such praise that would make any artist head swell, claiming it was the most amazing piece he had seen in years.

The lesson of this story being, art can only be truly graded in one way:

Do you like what you created? Or not? The rest is just people’s opinions and nothing more.

The title of this masterpiece says it all...

This is such an elegant piece in its simplicity, and yet, it gives off complex emotions. I feel nostalgic and sentimental, as if this illustration hailed from somewhere in my past when I was first influenced to pick up crayon and draw. That's what this piece says to me. Bravo.

it's very inspirational.

I like how you did on the pic.

Sorry, hit the wrong key. Anyway, looks like you decided that you don't need to make a piece full of sadness and misery to touch a heart.

I can definitely see a change in the tone of your artwork. Before, you usually drew/wrote along the lines of angst and sadness. Now, it's more lighthearted, and even heartfelt. Looks like you decided that you d
