Description
This is one of the things that didn’t require much mental work that I managed to do during the lurgy.
I’ve been meaning to update the information pages on the KTS website for a while and now it’s the time for the Character page. There are now quite a few background or secondary characters that keep popping up, so I needed a page for people wanting to remind themselves who that new guy is or if they’d seen someone somewhere before.
Of course such a page would need pictures of each of the characters to properly pick them out, and originally I was going to just take cropped images from the comic, but it proved too hard to get face sized portraits for the entire cast all in the same size, so I just redrew them all to fit.
All thirty six of them :S
Still they’re done now, and it looks pretty good all gathered together, what do you think? Anyone got a favourite?

Oh Lota? Oh she's human allright, she's a migrant from the southern islands, a region much more tropical than Tal'Lushan, they worship the Sea Goddess and the waves and ocean figure heavily in their religion. THe tattoos Lota wears are those of a temple priestess, though she just wears them because they remind her of home.

Well I've got lots of bits of information like that, but none of it's very organised, that's something I'm trying to sort out at the moment, hence making little portrait shots of all the cast for the KTS characters page.

I can't tell if Kohta is lucky or unlucky.
on one hand, he got... uuhm... playtime with at least a half dozen ladies, but on the other hand, he almost got himself shot, chopped, blown up, even almost killed... but i guess that's the life of an adventurer.

it was... well... it was ok... I get the sense that the official Comic Con fills a lot more slots.. they had a lot of artists there... and some really good ones... but it just felt kind of average... I've been to Comic Con in San Diego and LA... wow... but it was nice... Ya Ya Han was there... she's got a profile here in DA... all in all it was fun... it was the first Con for my girlfriend so it was exciting in that aspect... I also got to meet a couple people I watch here in DA... it would have been cool to meet up... where are you in England btw?

Actually I'm not, I live in Scotland, which makes travelling all the way down to London just that much harder (and more expensive :S)
It sounds like it was a bit disappointing, I've never actually been to a con myself but I've always wanted to go to either the San Diego Comic Con or PAX Prime, so it might be an idea to start going to con's in the UK and Europe to start building up to the bigger US cons.
Still getting to see some folk like Ya Ya Han would've made it worth it, she's a fantastic cosplayer, plus other DA artists like Jolly Jack went so it would've been cool to meet them and maybe buy a commission or some merch.

wow... Scotland! which part?
yeah it was... Saturday had a pretty good turnout... Sunday was really slow but I think it was a question of poor timing... they held it over Mother's Day weekend... that's like holding a Sobriety event on St. Patrick's Day.... so I think that helped to kind of quash it... they did have some really awesome massage therapists there who were working on donation... they also had a bullet time room where they would capture you on film Matrix style... one group was a bunch of various Jedi Cosplayers including one Boba Fett crowding into the circular space they had for it lolz it was pretty cool... they also had an area where you could get a photo taken to be digitally altered by some professional CGI people... the setting they had was for Dagobah with the crates and the rocks... but they could also make it out into something else... though I don't know what else they had.... they had some pretty cool After Effects... light spheres and light sabers etc.... another table had the 3-d printer with some amazing replicas that they had replicated... one was a sword which cost more than the printer that produced it... in materials and time... I think they had to make it from 6 or 7 different segments then put it together... My girlfriend and I met Phil (Jolly Jack) we even got a portrait done.... quentinlars.deviantart.com/art… we're second from the top... so while it wasn't all that I had hoped.... it still turned out to be pretty decent... Europe does need to work on it's hoodie sizes though... I tried on an awesome Marvel one and realized that they're XXL fits like an American L and they don't go higher than XXL... (groan)
YA Ya was amazing... first day she was done up as Deja Thoris... and Sunday... I don't who she was but she looked badass.... and she's a little thing... didn't realize she was so short...

Wow man it sounds like you had a really good time! I've definitely got to think about attending next time, I had a mate who went to the last London Comic Con and he got to meet all sorts of people, including Ryan Sohmer from LICD, so that's something. And congratz on getting the portrait done, it looks really good, especially with little hamster added
